Chapter 2: The Song That Brought Us Together

Three days of fever and headache.

Ugh, will I ever catch up on the lectures?

Stupid fever.

It was mid-September.

It's was raining outside.

Good thing before I left the house it stopped, but it was so cold so I brought my jacket with me.

I was pretty anxious today.

I was chosen for the lead actor for our presentation in English. AND, it's a musical.

They've been debating on who was to be the lead actress while I was sick. Guess I should consider myself lucky I have no competitors for the lead role.

I was in favor of my friend since first year. Her name is Roselyn. But unfortunately she didn't get picked. I was kind of disappointed at first. But what the heck? If the one they picked could sing better, why not?

Her name is Abegail by the way. I've known her by name and her face since first year but I've never really known her until this year when we got together in this play. And this is the only year when we got to be classmates.

Well I got to our meeting place near the school without incident.

Of course she was there. And so were her friends.

My friend was also there.

"Jun!" I yelled.

"Hey what's up? Why were you absent these past days?" he asked

I did tell them through text I had a fever.

"I had a fever but I'm ok now."

"Oh by the way Roselyn's going to be my partner now. She's playing Taylor"

Yeah you can guess that much, we're playing High School Musical. Big deal.

"Really? And I heard Abegail's playing Gabriella?"

"Yeah, pretty much"

"All right guys settle down, don't make me kick you."

It was Earl our director for this play.

"My gosh Earl, you're really acting like a horse. Well I'm not saying it doesn't suit you."

Shangrila interjected. She's one of Abegail's friends.

"Come on guys this is our first time having our lead roles together. Let's get a little serious" Earl calmly replied.

"Let's start with you KM and Abhie. Sing your first duet."

"Uhm, sorry to be the stupid one, but I don't know the lyrics"

Well that was a stupid reply.

I'm not a fan of High School Musical. I only know one song, but only the chorus. xD

Well they produced a copy of the lyrics, I was a little bit off notes because I didn't know the rhythm. I was kind of embarrased the Abegail was teaching me the tone.

"All right I'll try now."

Jaycee. One of my friends since first year, she is also friends with Abegail.

"Yeah. Who would have thought?" Abegail remarked

Who would have thought? She was amazing. And here I am again.

This could really be the start of something new....
