It's Friday morning and the sun seems to be brighter than any day.

And I know why!

Because it's summertime, baby!

Today is our official summer vacation from school. We have ended yet another chapter in our college life and it's our time to take those sleepless nights worth it!

Today, we have planned to go on an adventure of a lifetime with my college friends.

First, we'll go on a grocery shopping spree. Then have a road trip to our camping site. Build our tents. Cook our food, eat the food. Then have a bonfire with drinks in our hands. And tomorrow, it'll be a challenge. WE WILL GO ON A HIKE IN THE MOUNTAIN!

I'm really excited about it, especially since this could be one of the reasons that make our friendship stronger than ever.

The grocery shopping will happen this afternoon so I have plenty of time to pack my baggage. And even check them 4 times to see if I forgot something.

This kind of experience is truly remarkable to me especially since I have never experienced something like this during my high school and elementary days.

I was just an extreme introvert at that time. But now, I've come to make myself an ambivert, which is a big milestone for me.

"Take this with you eris. This will be essential, especially if you'll be sleeping in a tent" said by my brother eros when he came in.

Didn't even knock.

I reached for the bottle he just gave me and it was a mosquito repellent lotion that I must say is very essential in our camping trip.

"Thanks bro. You're really sweet" I gave him a smile that made him also smile.

I thought he was just here to give me the lotion but I was shocked that he let himself in my room and helped me to fold my clothes.

As I was looking at him, he's smiling but his eyes say something otherwise.

It was pain, and I know it.

"Okay, what did they say now" I blurted out as I put down my clothes in my bed.

My brother is one of the cheeriest person I know. But when we're at home or in the same place as our parents, he's suddenly this gentle puppy. I can't blame him for that, our parents sucks.

All they care about is our reputation, or should I say their reputation.

They tend to be these overly strict parents, especially to eros because they said that he's a boy and only thinks about him as a bad guy who ruins his future.

"I was branded as a disappointment a while ago. Nothing new" he said with a faint smile plastered in his face

I sighed with what he said and didn't have much choice but to continue packing rather than talking to my parents how pathetic they are.

"You know you are not right? Our parents are just perfectionists and every mistake we make is unacceptable. Let's just try to understand them okay?"

He squeezed my hand and smiled genuinely to me.

My parents assume that when we grow up we will still be in their arms. Supporting them all the way. And that's also what I want, to be a great daughter who financially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually supports them

But as I am maturing, my view of that has deteriorated.

All I want now is to graduate college and get a job far away from here. Never seen by them, but I will still support them financially. As much as I can afford.
