The next day dawned with a mix of excitement and nervousness for Y/N. As she stood in front of her mirror, carefully slipping into her school uniform, her mind raced with thoughts of her impending first day at her new private school in Japan. The move from the US had been a big adjustment, and now, faced with the prospect of navigating a new school and a new social landscape, Y/N couldn't help but feel a twinge of apprehension.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she smoothed down the fabric of her uniform, the unfamiliarity of it all serving as a stark reminder of the changes in her life. And then there was her accent, a remnant of her time abroad that she couldn't seem to shake. It was a source of embarrassment for her, a constant reminder of her outsider status in a world where conformity was prized above all else.
As she descended the stairs, her parents greeted her with warm smiles and words of encouragement. "Don't worry, Y/N," her father reassured her, his voice soothing. "You'll do just fine at your new school. Just be yourself."
Y/N nodded, trying to push aside her doubts as she followed her parents out the door. She wasn't afraid of the school itself; it was the prospect of facing the privileged, entitled teenagers who roamed its halls that filled her with dread. Her parents may have money, but it was nothing compared to the wealth and status of her new classmates.
As she stepped out onto the sidewalk, her eyes drifted to the house next door, where she caught sight of the boy she had met the day before. His name escaped her for a moment, lost in the whirlwind of her thoughts. She considered approaching him, a flicker of recognition sparking in her mind, but before she could make a move, a purple-haired boy appeared out of nowhere and shoved him towards a waiting car.
Y/N's heart sank as she watched them drive away, the opportunity slipping through her fingers like grains of sand. With a resigned sigh, she turned her attention back to her own journey, steeling herself for the challenges that lay ahead. As the car pulled away from the curb, Y/N couldn't help but wonder what fate had in store for her at her new school, and whether she would ever have the chance to cross paths with the boy next door once again.
Y/N took a deep breath as she approached the imposing gates of her new school, her heart pounding with nervous anticipation. Every step felt like a journey into the unknown, each pair of eyes that glanced her way sending a shiver down her spine. She could feel the weight of their stares, their whispered conversations like a constant buzz in her ears.
The urge to turn and flee surged through her, her mind racing with thoughts of escape. She had even gone as far as dyeing her hair brown in a futile attempt to blend in with the sea of faces around her. But it seemed her efforts were in vain, as the whispers only grew louder, the stares more intense.
Lost in her own thoughts, Y/N didn't notice the person in front of her until it was too late. With a startled gasp, she collided with them, stumbling backward in surprise. As she looked up, she found herself face to face with the purple-haired boy who had pushed Nagi earlier that morning.
"Sorry," she mumbled, her cheeks burning with embarrassment as she quickly sidestepped him and hurried away, her heart still pounding in her chest.
Meanwhile, Reo, the purple-haired boy, turned to his best friend Nagi with a puzzled expression. "What was that about?" he asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.
Nagi shrugged, his attention still glued to his phone screen. "I don't know," he replied absentmindedly, his mind preoccupied with the digital world before him.
Unbeknownst to them both, their paths had crossed in the most unexpected of ways, setting in motion a series of events that would intertwine their fates in ways they could never have imagined. But for now, as the bustling schoolyard buzzed with activity around them, they remained oblivious to the role they would play in each other's lives.
