"ARE YOU SERIOUS?"
the girl whined, glancing down at her [F/C]—colored Motorola with a sad expression gracing her face. half her face cuddled into the pillow as her eyes peeled out at the pixelated screen, hoping for a notification from him.

this wasn't the first attempt or try the girl had tried to get her crushes attention. and every time it failed she felt herself grow more and more desperate. was he really not interested? or is there a good reason on why he hasn't ever texted her back?

this other crush was Gary Harrison. a blonde boy who seemed to be perfect in every way to her, her friends would instantly groan and shut down her words every time she spoke of him. it was tiring for them—but no matter what she always would talk about him.

(Y/N) was in deep. and she knew it, still, she couldn't get him out of her head. and matter of fact, she didn't want him out.

but this was starting to get tiring. she hated getting her hopes high just for them to easily be knocked to the ground and thrown out the window. but she liked him, this is just a small crush so why is she so upset?

the girl placed her phone down back on the bedside table, she watched it for a couple moments more. begging, PLEADING the universe that somehow—someway. an unknown number would pop up and she'll finally get a chance to talk to him personally and ease her brain.

nothing. nothing at all.

her phone was always sorta dry, expect for the occasional text message from Leslie or Bebe. maybe this one time would work out.

did he lose the note? did he show his friends and laugh at it? did he store it for later when it was the right time? did his friends take it?

oh no. what if his friends DID take it and they'll message her saying that it's Gary. how would she know??

she looked down at the pillow in her arms. trying to calm down her racing thoughts and just continue to tell herself that she shouldn't speak like that. but what if it was true? then she should prepare.

oh god, I really hope it isn't.

then. a notification.

almost instantly— the girl reached over and with a smile— she checked it.

it wasn't from him. but Leslie.

of course.
the girl felt herself go right back into the pathetic hole she dug herself into. the one she's been digging ever since her first failed attempt at his attention.

now I seem weird. and desperate.
(Y/N) put her phone back down, not having the energy to talk to anyone whatsoever. all she wanted was for the guy she's liked ever since the beginning of high school to finally talk to her. but it's (Y/N). and nothing ever goes her way.

maybe she should just leave him alone. maybe if she shows him she's not interested... then maybe he'll want her back.

no, stop. at this point your just willing to do anything. and I've already tried everything.

before she knew it, her throat started to burn and her eyes became too blurry to see.

great— just what I need. to be crying over a guy who doesn't even like me.

even though she thought it, the last words hurt her heart, she liked him too much and it was starting to get to her.

sometimes, crushes aren't fun.
