Beomgyu turned his head with a soft curve on his lips, expecting to see Sunoo or Soobin, but his smile dropped immediately at the sight of Yeonjun. Seriously, what's his damn problem?
"What do you want?" Beomgyu asked, not giving a damn about whatever his answer would be.
"Nothing, I'm just watching the moon." Yeonjun replied.
Beomgyu turned his head and shifted his attention onto the scenery. The moon rested itself low over the horizon, reflecting its beam on the face of the sea and showing where the sea met the sky. The two sat in its path along the shore. A million little stars twinkled down on them. The waves crashed and fell. Beomgyu took a deep breath, filling his lungs with fresh air.
"Now, I'm convinced you two are bonding!" Niki shouted, causing the relaxed boys to turn around. They were met with the sight of Niki, holding hands with Sunoo. Soobin trailed behind them, waving at Beomgyu with a smile.
Beomgyu pushed Yeonjun. "No, we're not!"
"Hey, what was that for? You've pushed me two times today!" Yeonjun shouted as he pushed Beomgyu.
The couple laughed at the hilarious sight. "Okay, whatever." The shorter of the two said.
"Niki, you dumbass. What did you say to Hyuka? He almost cried!" Taehyun came running to Niki as he flunged to hit him.
"The fuck you want?" Niki said, running away as Taehyun chased him. "I just said that he shouldn't have brought all of his plushies here!"
The two kept running around while Kai, the main reason why the two were fighting, was talking with Soobin, occasionally giving a few flirts that went unnoticed by the boy who was just seeing the conversation as a friendly talk.
"Gyu-ah," Soobin started as they walked around the town. "Did you know that there's a popular bookstore nearby?"
Beomgyu's eyes lit up as he turned to face the eyes of the taller. "Really!? Then, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" He said, running to wherever. "Come on, slowpoke!"
Soobin let out a small laugh. "It's this way." He said, causing the younger to abruptly stop his track and change directions.
They arrived at the bookstore, and Beomgyu immediately went around, searching for books. He hopped and skipped around happily as he led his way to the romance section. He took out a book, 'PS, I LOVE YOU'.
His eyes lit up as he giggled happily, "Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorite author's novels!"
Soobin chuckled as he watched Beomgyu hop around and giggle like a kid. In the end, Beomgyu ended up with 26 books, and Soobin ended up with about a hundred dollars out of his wallet. He didn't mind, though. He was rich, after all.
They were now walking back to the hotel as Soobin watched the giggly boy skip around beside him in adoration. Soobin was carrying the bags full of books while the younger rambled on and on about books and how thankful he was as Soobin listened attentively.
"Oh, hyung, I love you!" Beomgyu exclaimed, causing the older to look at him. His ears went red, which went unnoticed by the boy who was hopping around. And then he realized he meant it platonically. Soobin's eyes fell in disappointment. Of course, it was platonically...
The day they all go back to Seoul came. Some students were disappointed that they had to leave so soon while others were disappointed that they had to go to school again. All in all, the students were all disappointed. But Beomgyu was scared as he now had to face his landlord. He barely had any money to buy himself a proper meal, and he still hadn't gotten his monthly salary. Then, his phone rang.
Beomgyu answered, "Hello?"
"Oh, hey, Gyu! I was just ringing to tell you that Shua and I are coming to Seoul." His cousin, Gunil, announced from the other side.
Beomgyu felt relieved hearing that. His cousins were rich, and they had been the only people who helped him. Of course, Beomgyu felt bad whenever he took their money, but they always reassured him that he shouldn't worry about it. They were the only people who knew the situation Beomgyu was in. What about Beomgyu's friends, you say? They only knew that he was poor, nothing more. Beomgyu preferred to keep it that way as he found it as less of a bother to his friends.
"Ah, okay then. When are you guys coming?" Beomgyu asked his cousins, who are probably in Los Angeles right now.
You see, Gunil was in a band called Xdinary Heroes and Joshua, who Gunil referred to as Shua,
was always tagging along."Today! And also, don't be afraid to ask for money. You know we have no problem giving you some." Gunil said.
Beomgyu hesitated a bit before speaking, "I don't have money for my rent.."
"We'll gladly pay for that, Beomgyu! Don't you worry." Beomgyu heard his hyung say from the other side.
He felt tears threatening to fall down from his eyes. "Thank you, hyung... I promise I'll pay back each and every cent!"
"You know you don't have to pay us back, Gyu. We're happy to help." Beomgyu felt himself getting close to weeping.
"Thank you, hyung. Thank you." Beomgyu wiped his tears before they fell.
"We're just happy to hear that you're okay." Gunil said. "Okay, we have to hang up now. Bye, Gyu!"
Beomgyu was chilling in his apartment when someone knocked on the door. Scared that it might be the landlord, he hesitately tiptoed to the door as if the person outside could hear him in his apartment. He had to laugh at how silly the situation was. He felt as if he was a child again; hiding from the adults when it was time to go to school. The person on the other side knocked again. He stopped his tiptoe. Should he act as if he's not home? No, what if it's not his landlord? He tiptoed again, this time slower. Then, his phone started ringing.
He picked it up, "Hello?"
"Gyu, are you not home?" Joshua asked from the other side. "Why aren't you opening the door?"
Beomgyu let out a sigh of relief. "Oh, I was scared it was the landlord." He said as he opened the door.
Immediately, his two cousins flung in to hug Beomgyu tight. He couldn't even hug them back as he was basically getting squashed between them.
"Hyung- I can't move-" Beomgyu managed to speak despite the shoulders of his cousins pressed up on his cheeks.
They finally let go. "We heard you're gonna sing in a contest! Why didn't you tell us?" Joshua said as he lightly hit Beomgyu's arm.
Beomgyu laughed, "Sorryyy... Who told you?"
"Sunoo."
"Oh, that motor mouth.." Beomgyu facepalmed.
"As if you're not a motor mouth. Remember when we had a sleepover and you rambled on and on about how irritating Yeonjun was?" Gunil said, causing the youngest to hit his arm lightly in embarrassment. "It went on for hours!"
"Is he still bothering you?" Joshua asked.
Beomgyu nodded, "Still a pain in the ass."
"You know what they say; if he annoys you, he likes youuuuu!!" Gunil and Joshua ooh-ed and ahh-ed, while Beomgyu told them to shut up.
"When's the contest?" Gunil asked.
"The 22nd." Beomgyu paused in realization.
"Wait, it's tomorrow!"
