I sighed angrily and put my head in my hands. A whole day and I haven't found him. I'm just so frustrated! I'm the best tracker at S.H.I.E.L.D! I groaned in despair.
"Hey Nat. What's wrong?" Clint asked, sliding into a chair opposite me.
"I can't believe it. I can't find Perseus Jackson!" Suddenly he started laughing.
"Are you... Are you laughing at me?!" I demanded angrily.
"What are you laughing at?! Do you find my failure and despair funny?!" I shouted, growing angry.
"No. It's just... we found him three hours ago." He said simply and leaned back. I felt my mouth drop open.
"Wha-you-I-but..." He laughed again.
"He's in Stark's Tower for some reason."
"Why's he there?" I muttered. Clint shrugged.
"We're heading there in ten minutes." He said and walked away. I sighed in distress and went to get my guns. I packed extra ammo and some sleeping darts. Steve walked up to me, shield in hand.
"Hey Nat. You ready?" He asked. I nodded. We flew in a jet to Stark Tower and I was shocked at how many agents had come. There must've been at least thirty of them.
"Team Echo, team Bravo, this is team Alpha. Do you copy?" An agent said through his earpiece.
"Team Alpha, this is team Echo. We copy." I replied into my earpiece.
"Team Alpha, this is team Bravo. We copy." The third group responded. Team Alpha was going to sneak in and keep him occupied while team Bravo was going to try and detain him. Team Echo, us, was here for back up in case things got desperate.
"We have eyes on the target." Team Bravo said.
"Team Alpha heading out." I looked through a window and saw Percy sitting next to Pepper. They were watching a movie. Totally oblivious to the agents outside. I heard glass smash and team Alpha entered the building. I saw someone shoot a dart and Pepper fell to the ground. Suddenly there was Percy standing in front of Pepper protectively, a sword in his hand. Percy used the sword like an expert and every dart that came his way ricocheid off of the sword and hit an agent. Soon all the agents were down.
"Team Alpha is down. Team Bravo going in." I saw them go in and then heard gunshots. Wait a moment. Those aren't dart guns! They're trying to shoot him!
"Guys, those aren't dart guns." Clint said suspiciously. I watched the scene before me. Percy was holding Peppers limp body protectively in one arm and the other was holding a bronze shield. The shield had pictures of weird scenes on it. The shield shielded Percy and Pepper from the bullets being shot at them.
"Team Echo, team Bravo in need of assistance."
"Copy that." I said and got ready.
"Alright. Now it's our turn." I said to the team. Thor was somewhere on Asgard and Tony was at a business conference in Rome. It was only me, Clint, Steve and Bruce. I jumped through a broken window, guns in hand. A dozen agents lay on the floor. Either unconscious or crying in agony from their wounds. I pointed my gun at the boy. His impossibly green eyes turned to me and he smiled slightly. His shield and sword was gone and he was laying Pepper down onto the couch.
"Hey. It's Natasha, right?" He asked. I nodded.
"Hey Percy. How was your stay at Greece?" Clint asked, still aiming his bow at the teenager in case. I've seen this boy fight twice now. It still amazes me how well he can fight.
"Stressful. Who knew that a nose bleed could cause such trouble." He said. I frowned and glanced at the others. They all looked equally confused.
"Never mind. Inside joke. So will you tell me why your group of oddly dressed friends and a group of agents attacked me and Pepper?"
"Oh. Right. Perseus Jackson, you're under arrest." I said. He frowned in confusion.
"What? Why?"
"For terrorism." Clint said simply. Percy's face broke into a grin.
"You think I'm a terrorist? That's ridiculous." He laughed hysterically.
"Anyway. Please come with us peacefully. Nobody will hurt you. Trust me." I pleaded with him. He smiled sadly.
"No way. I don't trust anyone anymore." I sighed in defeat.
"Fine. Then I'm sorry for this." And I fired my gun at his chest. He brought up his sword and deflected it easily. Then there was chaos. Steve threw his shield as Clint shot a tranquiliser arrow and I shot a dart at him. He caught Steve's shield and blocked the darts. He threw the shield at Clint who didn't move quick enough. Clint crumpled to the ground and I heard Percy mutter,
"Sorry Clint." Then he picked up a tranquiliser and threw it at Steve who fell to the ground, a dart in his neck. We studied each other warily and circled each other. My earpiece buzzed to life.
"Backup team Charlie deployed."
Bruce hurriedly stepped away from the fight as the remaining windows shattered and even more agents ran in, training their guns at Percy. He put up a good fight but was soon outnumbered. But he still held his ground.
"Put down the sword!" An agent shouted.
"Sure." He said sarcastically. The lead agent put the barrel of his gun to Peppers head.
"Put the weapon down or I pull the trigger." Percy glared daggers at the agent.
"You wouldn't." He growled.
"Try me."
They stared at each other as Percy tried to see if the agent was bluffing. Percy's sword fell to the floor and he sighed in defeat. Agents rushed towards him. His hands were placed behind his back and handcuffed.
"Perseus Achilles Jackson, you are under arrest for terrorism, treason and blackmail."
