A cliche story

Chapter 25

The loud funky music blocked all other sounds as everyone cheered and danced and sang along.

Nandini giggled as her friends danced like the crazy they are, but groaned as they smirked and began to drag her to the dance floor.

The light was dim, though there were flashes of light from the disco ball at the centre of the ceiling.

They'd been working hard for this project for some time now, working over night and on weekends so people were more than eager to let off some steam! And they were going bonkers!!

As Nick wasn't drinking tonight, he was getting drinks for Kavya and Nandini.

Nick had been smirking at Nandini ever since they'd started the party, and she didn't understand why! Whenever she asked him, he just shrugged it off!

Nick however was gazing at the stupid girl, remembering the message he'd got a couple of hours ago, from an unknown number.

'hey Nick, this is Veer, Nandini's fiance. I got your number from her. Don't tell her I texted you but do look after Nandini for me, and do drop me a message once you leave from the party, thanks!'

The message, though funny, was cute too! He'd never seen Nandini spare any guy a second glance but here she was, dressing up for the man and about to get married! Nick felt like he's her father, giving her away after her wedding, though they were best friends!

He wished Veer were here, so that he'd get a nice opportunity to tease Nandini a little more!

But it was almost closing to 11 o clock and yet, none of them wanted to let go off Nandini - this would be their last office party before she got married and moved away!

They might get opportunities in the future too, but she'll be a married woman then, and so, all the teammates wanted Nandini to stay and dance with them, and make memories!

Nick wondered vaguely - if Veer was getting anxious that Nandini still hasn't gone home, or he's busy working?

Probably busy working the thought- the man is the chairperson and whatnot.. he doesn't have time to sit by his phone and stalk and wait for a message or call from Nandini right?

But love does strange things to people... he just hoped that Veer was pining for Nandini! She did deserve all the love and attention in the world!

But speaking of attention, Nick frowned.. a tall guy was gazing at Nandini from across the dance floor.

His instincts kicking in, Nick narrowed his eyes, staring at the guy. The guy was eyeing Nandini as the others dragged her to the dance floor yet again, and he clenched his jaw as he saw the stranger gazing at Nandini with a smirk!

What the heck? Straightening himself, Nick had barely taken a step towards the man, when the man himself moved towards Nandini.

Without waiting for it, Nick rushed towards Nandini and dragged her before the other man even got close!

"Nick?" Nandini gasped at him in shock. But Nick was standing in front of her, shielding her from the stranger, who was frowning at Nick.

Nandini gazed from Nick, to the man in front of them and she too gasped.

"Bhabhi ji? Remember me?" Lucky grinned broadly at her however, his hands folded in a namaste.

Nandini smiled and nodded and did a little namaste too, and sensing their friendship, Nick moved aside.

"Who's this?" Lucky asked Nandini, his gaze narrowed at Nick,

Nick scoffed - he's acting as if he owns this place, jerk, he thought with a scowl.
