"Bhai please?????" Veer folded his hands, as though in prayer and gazed at Rohan with puppy eyes, but the latter just gagged.
"Pleaseeeeeeeee??" Veer tried again, batting his eyelashes.
"Veera! The arrangements are already done! Everyone is going to join soon, and moreover, Dadiji personally made sure all the arrangements for the haldi are done properly. My hands are tied! I can't do anything!" Rohan shook his head.
"...per...but... bhai... you're dadi's favourite, surely you can pull some strings? For me??? I'm your ladla bhai, your favourite? I'm your best friend??" Veer pouted.
"I am not dadi's favourite... Shekhar bhai is! I'm sure he already told you a no?? And Priya is my best friend Veera!" Rohan narrowed his eyes at his brother.
"Shaadi kya hoagayi, bhai ko bhul gaye?!" Veer said dramatically, pretending to choke on his tears and wiping away invisible tears from the corners of his eyes.
{ Translation - you've forgotten your brother after you got married!! }
"Teri abhi shaadi hui nahi, tu toh mujhe kab ka bhul gaya? Itni baari aya hai India iss saal, kitni baar mujhse milne aaya?" Rohan asked coolly, raising his eyebrow.
{ Translation - you're not married yet you've already forgotten your brother! You've come to India so many times this year.. how many times have you come to meet me??}
Veer grinned sheepishly, rubbing the nape of his neck.
It was true, they were once inseparable, very close - thick as thieves!! But after Rohan's breakup with his ex girlfriend had turned him into a living machine, Veer had severed ties with him, moving to London to live with his grandparents.
Though their relationship was somewhat renewed now, yet there was some bitterness - the years of their separation had obviously left a strain on their once close friendship, and brotherhood.
"Ab... tum aao na London, kabhi bhi??" Veer grinned at his brother.
{ Translation - you can come to London anytime}
The wickedest of smirk curled Rohan's lips at this, making Veer's smile falter.
"Chal, itni pyaar se bula raha hai toh kaise nahi maanu teri baat? Teri shaadi k baad tum dono k sath mein aunga, aur pehle ki tarah tu aur mein baith kar raat bhar baat karenge!" Rohan smirked.
{ Translation - well how can I refuse you when you're being so sweet to me? Tell you what, I'll come with the two of you to London, post your wedding, and like the old days we both will sit and talk into the night!}
The smile vanished from Veer's face, making him scowl.
"Rohan!!!" Veer groaned.
"Dekh, ladki mil gayi toh bhai nahi chahiye tujhe!" Rohan sighed dramatically.
{ Translation - see you got yourself a girl and you don't want your brother anymore!!}
"Mili kaha? Abhi bhi kunwara hu!" Veer said irritably.
{ Translation - where did I get her?? I'm still a bachelor!!}
Rohan sniggered.
"You're an engaged man, you're not kunwara! This is your wedding week chote bhai, you're going to be married in 4 days!" Rohan smirked.
"Spend all the time you want with your wife after you guys get married!" He added, straightening his kurta.
Veer twisted his mouth.
Fine, he wanted to spend some more time with Nandini today and so, wanted their haldi function to be held together, that is to say, with both of them sitting together for the haldi!
