A message to 7/8th grade me.

In seventh grade you will meet a girl named Riley and she's going to be an amazing friend. You'll also become friends with Stephanie from 5th grade and you guys will forgive each other for all the shit that happened. You're going to try out for chamber orchestra and won't get in because B flat was a bit sharp. It will ruin your morning and you will be almost in tears and won't speak for almost 4 hours. Samantha will be a bitch when you actually talk. Ignore her. In pre-algebra that same day you'll get a D- on a quarter final and break down in the hallway when you and Riley go to put your stuff away. It doesn't matter. Eat lunch, laugh about it. Kenzie will try to make you laugh or smile. For the next couple of months you will become the most negative person to ever be around. You'll hate everyone and everything and won't see any joy in anything. Talk to people about it. Don't hold it all in. Eventually you dye your hair teal and it'll look amazing. You'll also start to be a little happier and that's really important. Also you probably still like Avril Lavigne. One day on the bus you'll hear a song on the radio and it'll be stuck in your head all day. That's how you get into Panic! At the Disco.
Eighth grade me, there's a lot to tell you. Firstly, love yourself. You are beautiful and amazing and so incredible. You'll hear about Fall Out Boy on Instagram and you'll listen to centuries. I hope you're ready to basically dedicate your life to a bunch of bands. I know that you hate yourself but please don't ever drag those scissors across your skin. don't do it, you'll regret it. At some point you will like Conner Barnes. He's a good friend but don't bother with trying to get him to like you. He's not the one. Don't stress about biology, just do the reading and take notes. One night you'll go over to Stephanie's house and her older brother will have a friend over. At first you'll absolutely hate the friend. His name is Devin and he's going to help you and stephanie build a blanket fort in the kitchen. The three of you will then hang out under there for about 3 hours before going to play halo. You are currently dating this boy and he's amazing. There's a lot to look forward to so just keep swimming.
