It was a normal day at the agency, Atsushi and kyouka were walking home together. Kyouka made dinner tonight and made sure Atsushi had extra food. She made sure of this because Atsushi was extremely underweight from the lack of food at the orphanage. He was extremely skinny, and she noticed that he'd be exhausted easily. She talked to Yosano about this, and they both agreed that Atsushi needed to eat more. What they didn't know was that it was a personal problem.

Atsushi had developed an eating disorder at a young age. He was treated differently from the other kids, he was starved, beaten, and experimented on. He was treated badly because of his ability to heal and stay alive, even after the most gruesome experiments Atsushi was still breathing. he knew was that eating made him feel sick, he had learned from the kids at his orphanage that eating made him fat and ugly. Yosano had a talk with Atsushi about his weight, and Yosano put him on a diet of 2 meals a day progressively getting more food each day to get him on a normal track. Kyouka helped make sure he kept this diet, although kyouka lived with yosano at the time, she'd walk to his house every night and make him dinner. At first, Atsushi hated the idea of eating food. But slowly he got more comfortable with eating, so did his body.

One day, at the agency it was lunch and Atsushi went to the cafe to have a smoothie and some chips. As he was uncomfortably eating, Akutagawa came down from the agency's room, as he had business there. And ordered a drink before he left. Looking over to Atsushi. Atsushi looks up then looks back down at his smoothie.
"Hi Akutagawa."
Akutagawa stayed silent and gave him a look.
"If you eat so much, you'll get even more fat~"
Akutagawa said just to pick on him. Atsushi paused, wasn't he supposed to be gaining more weight.
"See you later Jinko.
Akutagawa says before walking out the cafe. Atsushi throws his trash away and hurried to the bathroom. He locks the door and looks at himself in the mirror, quickly pulling up his shirt to check his stomach.

'Am I fat? they told me that I wasn't eating enough, but it sounds like I'm eating too much?'
Atsushi looks at himself in the mirror in multiple directions, until he had been overthinking for so long, he convinced himself that he was "overweight". He went over to the toilet to do what he knew best. he stuck two fingers in his mouth and gaged violently before he felt it come up his throat. When it finally stopped, he wiped his mouth and washed his hands.

He didn't eat for the rest of the day, at night he made an excuse to it eat dinner and went to bed on an empty stomach. The next day, Kyouka was waiting in Agency with her bags packed, ready to go as she has a 4–5-day mission. She leaves with kouyou a few minutes later.

Atsushi hasn't eaten in 3 days, he was dizzy and stumbling a lot. He had a massive headache, and he constantly felt like he'd pass out at any moment. Until he finally did. He managed to get home, before he passed out on his bathroom floor. He didn't show up for work the next day. After the second day of Atsushi not coming to work, dazai came to check up on him. He knocked on the door, which he got no answer from. So, he used his spare key to Atsushi's house to get in. Dazai calls Atsushi's name out multiple times, but there was no answer. Until he heard heavy breathing coming from the bathroom, he wondered around the corner to see Atsushi on the floor curled up next to the bathtub. With one hand holding his head and the other clutched against his stomach. His shirt was soaked in sweat and the rug was all wrinkled. It looked like he had been twisting and turning for hours.
"Omg Atsushi!"
Dazai rushes to Atsushi's side. Dazai picks Atsushi up from the ground with ease,
'He's so light'
Dazai brings him to the coach. and calls yosano
"Hello, dazai what do you need?"
"It's Atsushi, I don't know what's wrong with him but he looks in pain, he looks very malnourished, I think you should come over here"
"Okay I'll be right over"
Dazai moved Atsushi's hair out of the way as Atsushi clenches his stomach. It didn't take long for Yosano to get there.

Dazai was relieved to hear the door open.
"Hello?"
"Over here!"
Yosano rushed to his side. She put her hands around his wrist, which crossed over each other, a disappointed look rested on her face. Not disappointed with him, but herself for not realizing it was this bad.
"i-i.. I'm sorry."
"it's okay Atsushi"
yosano said as she stands up.
"We need to get him back to the agency, help me put him in my car"
Dazai nods as he picks Atsushi up and walks to yosano's car.

They make it to the agency, they rush in as the other members look at then with worried and confused faces.
"What's wrong with Atsushi"
Kenji asks
"Tell you in a bit"

Yosano hooks Atsushi up to wires and cords. She checks his blood pressure as a tube connects to his mouth feeds him. Atsushi passed out again on the way her, so anything she said to him she would get no response to. She wanted answers to her questions, but that'd have to wait until she got up again. She did other things to ensure he would be fine the next few hours.

Atsushi woke up to the sound of beeping ringing in his ears.
"Atsushi, can you hear me?"
Atsushi nods slowly. Yosano gave him pain reliver's. And gave him clean clothes that Dazai went back to get for him. Yosano left the room to let Atsushi change, he stayed in bed for bit, thinking about what had happened and what was going to happen in the future. small tears come out of the corner of his eyes. he wipes them away and slowly gets out of bed. He gets into the clothes Dazai brought him, a sweatshirt and some sweatpants, to make sure he was comfy. He cuddles back into the covers waiting for somebody to come back through the door. He never liked being alone anyways.
"Where's Atsushi!"
Atsushi could hear Kyouka from outside. his anxiety set in, not ready to confront her. When the door swung open.
"Atsushi!"
Kyouka immediately hugged Atsushi. Atsushi patted her back And Kyouka held back tears.
"Why'd you do that! I was scared half to death when I got the call!"
She busts into tears, Yosano walked in.

"Take it easy on him. This is really my fault for not checking up on him while you were gone. But if I had known the true reason you failed to eat so much was because of an eating disorder, I would have taken it more seriously. I'm sorry Atsushi."
"Yosano it's alright, there's no need to apologize"
Dazai comes in with a smoothie, he knew he needed to eat but food would be too much for his body right now, a smoothie was just what he needed, even if he ended up throwing it up. Dazai hugs Atsushi had Atsushi hugs him back in a sentimental embrace.
"This is a new chapter for you Atsushi, and I'll be there for you all throughout it."
Dazai holds Atsushi's hand as Atsushi smiles back at what he said.

Ove the next couple of months, Atsushi attended Therapy and got the treatment he needed. He had Everybody supporting him as he slowly Overcame his ED. Akutagawa got into big trouble with Chuuya and Kyouka about what he said, but he apologized at some point.
