Stella Berkshire
We had finally made it to lunch, most of the football team and cheerleader skipping to go to Dylan's lake house for a party. Danny was the DD for me and Cole, Erin tagging along as-well since it made no sense for her to drive separate. We got in the car, Cole being in the driver seat, me being passenger. Erin and Danny were in the back, all of us getting comfy for the fourty five minute. I put on some music, us all talking and laughing.
We pulled up to the cabin, gazing around and joining the rest of the group. We went and got the backyard set up, there was beer pong, a campfire, and plenty of alcohol for one afternoon. Me and Cole were on a beer pong team, us beating everyone. By the time we had played our third game, Cole was barely tipsy, me on the verge of being drunk due to my lower alcohol tolerance. I felt a hand slip around my waist, pulling me into their embrace. I turned around, being met with Cole's smiling face. "Hi princess." He spoke, before leaning down to kiss me. "Hi coley." I giggled pulling away from the kiss. "Baby, I think the alcohol is getting to you a bit." "Mmm maybe just a littleeeee." I laughed, pushing him to sit so I could sit in his lap. I sat sideways on his lap, arm going around his neck and my hand tangling with his hair.
My head moved to rest on his shoulder, eyes closing in content. "I like being here with you. Being yours." I whispered to him, his arms going around my waist. He grabbed a sweatshirt material blanket, putting it over both of us. His hands then went around my waist, holding me close. He softly kissed my neck, laughing at my drunken state. We decided to play truth or dare, all of us feeling bold thanks to our alcohol consumption. We had played a few rounds before Olivia asked "Cole, truth or dare?". " Truth." "Ok. What do you really think about Dylan stealing your spot and your number." He tensed up before saying "actually I'm gonna go a different route." I giggled, knowing what that meant. He leaned down before capturing my lips with his. He kissed me strongly. "WHAT THE FUCKKK." Everyone yelled, not having known about mine and Cole's relationship. "What? I can't kiss my girlfriend or what?" Before everyone congratulated us. We continued the game for a while, all of us chilling and having fun. At one point, I spilled beer all over Cole, forcing him to wear his letterman jacket with no shirt beneath.
We eventually arrived home, me still being quite drunk. I was holding onto Cole's side, his arm around me to hold me up. We got inside, all of us trying to be quiet. "Where have you three been. Do you know how late it is?" Katherine asked, before noticing me in Cole's arms, him having on only his letterman jacket and no shirt, me having messy hair and smudged makeup. "Well I guess that explains it." No katherine I swear it's not what it looks like. First of all Danny just drive us, and I had to beg Cole to let me go with him. It was completely my idea to go. And as for the lack of Cole's shirt, I spilled a beer on him leaving him no choice. Don't blame either of them. If anything blame me. I'm so so sorry. It's just been almost 4 months since the incident with mom and it really is starting to get to me. I'm so sorry" I rambled, starting to finally feel all the feelings I had pushed down for so long, letting it all out. I didn't realize at the time, but I had began to cry, breathing heavily. I finally stopped, harsh sobs escaping my body.
Katherine immediately felt bad, George too. I tirbed to face Cole, hugging him tightly. He grabbed my head, pulling me in closer. My arms went around him, crying loudly into his chest. After a few minutes, my sobs turned to slight hiccups, me finally being able to breathe. Cole picked me up, carrying me into the kitchen, his parents following. He set me down on the counter, grabbing me a tissue to blow my nose. The four of us just sat there for another minute before Katherine spoke up. "Stella honey, I'm so sorry. I wish you had told me earlier. I wish I would have noticed sooner how much this affected you." She spoke, coming over to hug me. I hugged her back, feeling better already.
"As much as I want to scold you and yell at you right now, I think we can all agree that this conversation can wait until morning. Now you two go get some rest, and Cole you can sleep in Stella's room if you would like to tonight. Just no funny bussiness ok." George spoke calmly, me smiling a little. With a raspy quiet voice, I spoke up. "Thank you George, and again I'm so so sorry." I sniffled softly, before Cole took my hand leading me to my room.
We went to my bathroom, taking off my makeup, while Cole brushed my hair. We brushed our teeth, me throwing on a pair of Cole's boxers and a big shirt of his, Cole pulling off his jeans and jacket.
We climbed into my bed, me laying on his chest while his hand went to my back, rubbing comforting circles on my back. "Goodnight coley", I spoke softly. "Goodnight princess, sweet dreams". He whispered into my ear, kissing my forehead. He began saying something else, but by that point I was already asleep.
