Hello hello everyone! Happy weekend. First off, apologies I couldn't have this chapter up last week. Due to some personal matters I was unable to post last weekend and of course due to work throughout the rest of the week I didn't have much time to finish up this chapter. But that's alright! Here's the next chapter for you all and I hope you all enjoy!
Of course, the following days after Susie's graduation party, with Angelica and Susie now out of preschool meant that both preschool graduates were hanging around the Pickles' household some days and this was one of the days. Both soon to be Kindergarteners were out in the backyard having their own tea party with Cynthia amongst some other dolls and teddy bears that both girls brought over with them to play.
"Would Cynthia like some more tea?" Susie asked holding the teapot in hand
"Oh yes of course, did you make sure it's exactly the right temperature? You know Cynthia only likes her tea at exactly 45 degees.
"Uh huh! Dont worry I made extra sure." Susie answered pouring the fake tea into the tea cup for Cynthia
As Susie was finishing up pouring the tea, Tommy's ball ended up rolling over and bumping into Angelica's leg. Of course seeing this both girls looked to see Dil waving at them.
"Hey guys can you throws the ball back?" Dil asked from across the yard
Hearing the baby babbles, Susie and Angelica could only give each other a look before looking back at the orange haired toddler. Quickly taking notice, Tommy went ahead to tell the girls what Dil was saying.
"Dil asked if you guys could throws the ball back!" Tommy yelled
"Oh, sure!" Susie exclaimed, picking up the ball as she tossed it back towards the babies
"Thanks!" Dil thanked Susie, picking up the ball
"Dil said thanks!" Tommy followed up as the babies went back to their game
Angelica could only let out an annoyed sigh as she watched the babies all run around the yard, running after Tommy's ball they were kicking around.
"I can't wait till we go to kindergarten. We won't have to be around a bunch of dumb babies." Angelica said, picking up Cynthia
"You say that now, but my brothers told me that Kindergarten is a lot harder than preschool. You have to do more work and learn lots more than the alphabet. We're gonna have to learn to read and write and a bunch of other stuffs like that. It won't be exactly like preschool where we mostly got to plays." Susie explained to Angelica
As Susie was explaining what she knew about Kindergarten to Angelica, Chuckie happened to overhear as he came by to pick up the ball that rolled in their direction again. Taking in the new information, Chuckie went back over to the rest of the group as he proceeded to tell them what he heard.
"Hey guys, Susie was saying that when you goes to Kindergarten you have to learns a whole bunch more stuffs and not gets to play as much no more neither." Chuckie explained as he dropped the ball on the ground again.
"Really? That doesnt sound like a lots of fun." Kimi pouted
"Yeah, that sounds boring!" Phil griped
"Yeah, who wants to go to school if you're not gonna gets to do fun stuff?" Lil asked with a huff
"Maybe I don't minds being a baby a little longer, it sounds like the biggerer you get the more boring growed up stuffs you has to do." Savannah commented
"Yeah I don't want to get biggerer if not only I can't understand baby but then have to do boring growed up stuffs to? Nuh uh no thanks." Dil crossed his arms
"Even if we thinks that, we can't just stops growing up...we're already going to goes to preschool." Tommy replied
Of course, the other older toddlers of the group looked at each other as they knew Tommy was right, they were a couple months off from going to preschool and there was nothing they could do to stop it.
"Asides, if you guys stops being able to knows what Dilly and Savannah are saying afore they're big enough for us to keep understanding thems, I can just tells you all everything they says just likes I do for Angelica and Susie." Tommy reassured his friends
"Well...I guess so. But wouldn't that makes you really tired to have to keep stopping what your doings everytime Dil or Savannah say somethings?" Chuckie questioned
"Not really, asides it's not a big deal if it means making sures everyone can understands each other." Tommy said proudly
"Thanks, Tommy." Dil thanked his brother, happy to know his older brother was looking out for him and his best friend.
"You don't have to thanks me, Dilly, that's what big brothers are fors." Tommy replied, placing his hand on Dil's shoulder
Dil grinned and nodded as Savannah went over to pick up the ball again.
"How about we keeps playing and not worry about growed up stuffs no more?" Savannah suggested
"Yeah, lets go!" Dil exclaimed, excited to keep playing their game
The rest of the group agreed as they all continued playing their game, putting the thought of growing up in the back of their minds for the moment. The gang all played together until it was time for everyone to leave for the evening. Of course, aftereveryone was gone for the evening, the Pickles boys followed their usual routine where they were cleaned up and sat down to have dinner, followed by a bath, and finally settled into their beds for the night. After getting tucked in and reading their bedtime stories, both Tommy and Dil lay in their respective beds waiting to fully fall asleep. However, while waiting for the sandman to visit, the returning worrisome thoughts of growing up loomed over the two toddlers. Sure, they wanted to grow up so they would be able to do all the fun things that they see their cousin get to do on a day to day basis, especially all the fun things they heard that she did in preschool. However, at the same time, the thought of the connection of communication being severed due to age was still a fresh fear in the toddlers minds. It wasn't too much longer before both Pickles brothers had slowly drifted off to sleep. As they slept, both brothers each had their own specific dreams in regards to their worries.
What are Tommy and Dil dreaming about? Find out next time!
