Fractures and Forgiveness

In halls where knowledge once did brightly shine,
A shadow falls, a dissonance I find.
Amongst these walls, where fellowship did bloom,
Now trust's frail flower wilts in shadowed gloom.

A single bond,
once strong and true and deep,
Now strained and distant, secrets hard to keep.
The weight of work, a burden ever-growing,
While grades, like whispers, mock my steady sowing.

The pressure mounts,
a mountain ever higher,
Dimming the spark of kindled learning's fire.
Yet still, within, a voice, though faint, persists,
To seek a path where purpose bright exists.

For learning's wellspring cannot wholly dry,
Nor bonds of truth be severed by a sigh.
With honest words and steps both firm and bold,
A path anew, a story yet untold.

So let me speak,
with candor and with grace,
To mend the fractures, find a better space.
For even shadows cannot dim the sun,
And hope's bright flame, though flickers, shall outrun.

This path may bend,
but never shall it break,
For knowledge sought,
for truth and wisdom's sake.
