Deadline looming, a storm in my brain
Internal assessment, driving me insane
Professor's instructions, a whisper in the breeze
"Just be creative," they say, with the greatest of easeLife on pause, hit the brakes on the fun
Coffee's my fuel, sleep is a distant sun
Brain in overdrive, fingers fly on the keys
This internal assessment, oh please just set me free!Research and analyze, format and cite
My social life's vanished, replaced by the night
Hours spent staring, at words on the screen
Is this what they call learning? It feels awfully meanProfessor, oh Professor, where is your guiding hand?
A rubric, a checklist, something I can understand
Vague instructions leave me adrift in the sea
Of deadlines and expectations, just drowning in meBut wait, a spark ignites, a fire takes hold
This struggle, a story, someday to be told
So I'll conquer this beast, with a triumphant roar
This internal assessment, ain't got nothin' more!
