A/N- At the top is Blake's other car ;) happy reading xKelsey
After lunch Tyler asks if he can walk with Olivia and I to our Maths class. Everything is going great as we stroll down the hall past the lockers. Then the dreaded ex decides to make an appearance.
"Tyler, we need to talk."
"There's nothing really left to say Lucy." Tyler's responds in a clipped tone.
"I want you back baby. I made a mistake letting you go. I love you." She gives him her best puppy pout and I think I just vomited in my mouth.
"You don't love me." Tyler replies. He's obviously getting agitated and looks to me as if I can do something to save him.
What does he expect me to do?
I'm not going to pretend to be his new girlfriend if that's what he has in mind. That's ridiculously cliché.
"Hey Lucy?" I call out.
"What!" She shouts, rudely and I think she even tried to bare her teeth at me.
"Oh nothing...you just have a huge beetle stuck in your hair."
"What the hell!" She starts screaming and swatting at her hair. She looks so stupid as she runs off toward the toilets and I let out a bark of laughter.
Olivia and Tyler laugh along with me. When we finally sober up Tyler unexpectedly throws his arms around me. I'm surprised at first but I understand that this is his way of thanking me.
I can't help revelling in the feeling of his arms around me. I feel so warm and...safe. It's a euphoric feeling and I want him to keep holding me. The skin on his upper arms is in direct contact with mine. His skin is soft and his muscles bulge against me. I have to pull away when I realise I'm sniffing his after shave. He's smells almost edible.
"Thanks for doing that. I owe you."
"Don't be silly. You don't owe me anything. I could just tell that you didn't need that kind of headache right now." I shrug and he smiles at me.
"How about I take you to the winter formal as a way of thanking you?"
"Oh...erm...I actually might already have a date for that."
Tyler's face turns to stone, "Oh. Who is it?"
"Jake."
"Please tell me you're joking. Jake Turner?!" I don't think he means to sound so outraged, but he does.
"Well yeah. There is one condition though. And if he doesn't do it then I'll be dateless."
"What does he have to do?"
"He needs to be at the church in town by five-thirty to help out with the homeless soup kitchen."
"You got Jake Turner to agree to that?!" He is undoubtably surprised and I just nod.
"He's so damn selfish though. I don't think he'll show up. I guess that means I'm still in with a chance." He grins at me and it looks absolutely adorable on him.
"Only time will tell." I shrug casually. Acting as if he's having no effect on me what so ever.

I arrive at the church at five-twenty and am pleasantly surprised to find Jake already there.
"Hey babe. I'm just helping Father John set up the tables." He tells me, grinning.
"Your boyfriend here has been very helpful Kelsey. Thank you for asking him to come." Father John says, unfolding the legs of a decorating table.
"Oh he's not-" I begin to say and then I'm cut off by Jake, "She's an amazing girl Father John and an amazing girlfriend."
