“Are you out of your goddamn mind?!” Ekko’s voice shattered the air, a jagged roar, wild, raw, and filled with rage. The words scraped against his throat, burning his chest as they spilled out.

“How dare you stick your nose into my business like that?”

Scar didn’t flinch. He shot back, teeth gritted, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. “No, you listen to me, Ekko. I had a plan—”

“A plan?!” Ekko’s voice exploded, sharp and venomous, dripping with hostility and bitter disbelief. He couldn’t believe the words coming out of Scar’s mouth. “That was your plan?!”

The anger boiled inside him, and it surged to the surface, his teeth grinding together as he spat out the words, each one searing with frustration. “They got the drop on her, and you—” He had to force himself to keep it together. “You made her think I betrayed her.”

A deep growl of frustration rumbled in his chest, and his fists clenched, trembling with the force of it.

“Goddamn it, Ekko! Can you shut the hell up for a second?!” Scar snapped, voice laced with venom, eyes flashing with anger. “I just saved your fucking ass!”

Ekko’s eyebrow arched, disbelief flickering across his face. “Saved my ass? Now that’s a new one.” He couldn’t help the bitter chuckle that slipped out, thick with sarcasm. “I had it under control, until you decided to barge in and fuck it all up.”

“Under control?!” Scar whipped around, fury igniting in his veins. His face twisted in anger, his body trembling as he took a step closer. “She kidnapped you, Ekko! You think she wouldn’t have done worse? You could be dead right now!”

Ekko’s heart hammered in his chest, bitterness spilling from his lips, the venom in his words thickening the air between them. “So your solution was to stick a needle in her neck and drug her?”

He could feel the rage seeping into his every word, every breath, as his eyes blazed with the need to make Scar understand.

“Do you have any fucking clue what she’s been through? Do you have any idea—any real idea—of the shit that’s twisted inside her? The hell she’s living right now?” He took a step forward, eyes burning with fury, his hands trembling from the weight of the storm inside him. “The pain, the isolation... She doesn’t need to be sedated, Scar. She needs someone who can listen, someone who understands, who accepts her—as she is.”

“She is crazy!!” Scar’s voice was a snapping, jagged edge, his words like nails digging into his skin. “When are you going to accept that, huh?”

Ekko’s eyes narrowed, and the words came out like acid, thick with contempt, "And you're supposed to be what, the sane one?"

"So what?!" Ekko’s voice splintered, each word a jagged shard of fury as it echoed through the room. "So damn what if she’s crazy?" His hands trembled, fists clenched so tightly his nails dug into his skin, every breath a growl of rising madness. The longer this conversation stretched, the deeper the fire burned in his chest, consuming him.

"She’s only crazy because of the hell she’s been through! I can fix her, I can! If only I could just have my time with her, my chance to get through to her. And then you come crashing in, sticking needles in her neck, treating her like some rabid animal!" His words spilled out, raw and jagged, emotion flooding back like a tidal wave. He could feel the walls crumbling, everything he’d locked away rushing to the surface. Finally, the damn broke.

Scar recoiled. For the first time in what felt like forever, Ekko’s words hit him with the weight of something real. He stood there, speechless, as Ekko’s anger surged like a wildfire. He couldn’t fight back this time, not like he usually did. He had nothing left.
