Kamila's POV

"Ultron knows we're coming." Steve began. "Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire. That's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out. All they want is to live their lives in peace. And that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done. We find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff. And we clear the field. Keep the fight between us." Steve stopped for a second then added," Ultron thinks we're monsters." I winced at the term. Clint glanced over at me and gave me a sad smile. "That we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't about just beating him. It's about whether he's right." He finished. Pietro walked over next to me.

"Hey." I said. He nodded.

"Be careful out there." He told me.

"I'll try. You too." He smirked. Then he did something unexpected. He lent down and kissed my cheek. I blushed as the jet landed and he sped out. Wanda winked and followed after him. Steve cleared his throat and said,

"Come on, kid. You're with me." I nodded. We went out onto the main bridge and began directing the evacuation traffic.

All of a sudden, the ground started exploding. Smaller Ultron bots began pouring out of the holes. They began firing on the city.

"Go!" I yelled to the people in the cars. One bot landed on a car nearby, and I grabbed one of the batons that Stark gave me when he'd given me the extra pieces for my suit. I stabbed the bot and it fell apart. I began to fight a different bot. It pinned me to the bridge. I wrapped my legs around its neck and brought it to the ground. I stabbed it through the head. The ground was shaking as I stood. I ran to the edge of the bridge and watched as it split in half. The city began lifting away from the rest of the Earth.

"Holy crap." I murmured.

"Do you see the beauty of it? The inevitability. You rise, only to fall." I heard Ultron say, "You Avengers, you are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword. And the earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal." I grabbed the Ultron nearest and threw it over the edge. I heard a whirring sound and the next thing I knew I was flying into a car.

"Cap, Red. You got incoming." Stark said over com.

"Incoming already came in." Steve replied. "Stark, you worry about bringing the city back down safely. The rest of us have one job, tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off." I nodded at him. I ran to the edge of the bridge, and Thor looked up at me. He had a woman in his arms, and I nodded. He threw her up and I jumped over the edge of the bridge, attaching my grappling hook onto a pole. I grabbed her hand.

"Hey, I got you." I said. "Look up at me." She did as I began slowly pulling us up. Steve appeared and grabbed her hand, pulling her up and over.

"What were you thinking?" He yelled.

"I wasn't! I'm doing my job." I yelled back and stabbed the nearest Ultron. He grunted in frustration and threw his shield at another one.

"You'll never..." It began. He summoned it back and it flew over the edge.

"Never what?" He called after it. "You didn't finish!" Thor dropped another car down.

"What, were you napping?" I asked as we jogged off. I saw a glimpse of Natasha. Steve saw her too and changed his course.

I kept on going, and pulled out my pistol and began firing. I saw a group of Sokovian soldiers being pinned down and I began to draw the bots attention away. Pietro blurred in and set Wanda down and they took the rest down. He looked over at me and smiled.

"Thanks." I said and looked around. There weren't any others. "Come on, let's gather civilians." He nodded and we set off to find any remaining stragglers.
