Today was the second day of the best weekend of your life. It was sure to be a grand slam with the crowd, and more videos to come. Thank gosh Jack was to be at Indy PopCon, he had a big role in your little surprise. You still hadn't really planned everything in your "royal" appearance. All you knew was a little before the panel you had to go change with Jack at your back. You two would be a little late to the panel, and you knew Mark would be waiting anxiously for your arrival. It would be a big surprise to him that you took one of his references so seriously.
It was currently 4:10 in the afternoon, and it was your time to leave for about forty five minutes. You called for Jack knowing he had to make an appearance on the panel as well. You had to make sure Mark knew the two of you were to be a tad late, but you couldn't just walk in there in your costume ruining the surprise before the panel. That would be stupid, and because you did a collab with Jack you two had come up with a not so stupid plan. It was due to be released into the YouTube world today after the panel. You could almost remember every hushed word in that video...
You two were playing a sandbox game just like how Mark and Jack met. It was a family tradition apparently, and Mark had planned it all. We were on the same map, everything was the same. Except Fort Blam-ass. You two started at about two in the afternoon and ended five hours later. You guys had so much fun. It was even Jack's idea that you cosplay, but as whom?
"You could cosplay as one of Mark's characters." Jack began "He would love it." This took you by surprise knowing Jack was right.
"I can't really do that... they're all male." You thought hard and long about your decision, but since he thought of it it had to be approved by him. "I could be a totally new character. I could be, like... the Princess of the Squirrels, or some shit."
You could see Jack was appeased, this was a great idea. Yeah, you'll be the new addition to the Iplier family. The Princess of the Squirrels.
"You called?" Jack picked up his phone somewhere in the crowded building. The lines were growing shorter by the day, and now the ones around you were gone. All gone to the panel, had to get front row seats.
"It's time. Did you check with Mark?" You ask him overjoyed to see the expression on Mark's face. That's all you could think about right about now.
"Yeah, I did. He wants to speak with you." The dreaded words traveled from phone to phone delaying in your ears. It was about a minute before you responded.
"Where is he?"
"Already at the panel, he's waiting for you and I."
"I guess we have to show up at the panel in our outfits." You sigh banging your fist on your stand. So much for a surprise.
"Oh, you don't have to. He just wants to know when we will be back." Jack's immediate response allows you to feel ashamed for the noise you caused, but to feel like you just got away with murder. A lucky encounter I may say.
"Tell him at about five. I'm sure we will done by then. You do have your costume right?" you were equally as anxious when he didn't respond afterwards. "Jack?"
"Yes, I do."
Thank God, You think to yourself knowing it wouldn't be as much as a laugh without Jack.
"Okay, meet me at the bathrooms." you sigh inwardly hoping no accidents were to be apparent at the panel.
About half an hour later as you expected you two were done and changed. Jack would be your squirrel squire walking down the aisle with you, arm in arm. He had bought an actual squirrel mascot-like costume. He looked ridiculous with his hat on the mascot's head. As for you, you chose the bad-ass side of Mark's characters. You came fully equipped with a fluffy tail and ears. You also wore a dress with an open front, but frilly in the back, a tiara with pink mustache jewels, white high heels, a warfstache necklace, and a red bow tie. The both of you were prepared, locked and loaded.
The crowd was huge, the cheers were overwhelming, his face was unbearable not to look at. You could say Mark was frozen, or dumbstruck, overwhelmed, stoked, surprised... Idk, all at once even. It was priceless.
"So this is what you were hiding from me?" he asked as the two of you sat down.
On the other side of the table Jack had taken off his Squirrel head and answered for you, "Yep." His smile was bigger than yours of course. The loudest YouTuber had to have the biggest smile. Although you would take the prize for the girliest scream. Game on Felix.
"After all, a new family member calls for a new Iplier." You exclaim fixating your mic.
"Maybe Wilford will have a girlfriend finally." Bob comments making the crowd go wild. Yes, finally the dreaded ships begin.
"Well, thanks, Bob, now I'm gonna have to do a romantic skit with my daughter." Mark pouts getting back up to answer some more questions. Wade had done the same, it was always those two buffoons running around like idiots to please the crowd.
"I say, they look like chickens with their heads cut off." you comment just before the first question was asked. You hadn't heard the actual question, you were too busy trying not to laugh at all the attention the Tubers were getting.
"I actually really enjoy her presence, and it's a joy to have her around." Wade answers first.
"I will agree, I say we make a great team. You can tell we get along." Jack stares dead straight whilst answering making sure to look Mark in the eyes.
"A great pleasure to work with, and certainly a warmly-welcomed new family member. Why doesn't she stand up and take a royal bow." It then occurred to you that they meant you. You shakily stand before the crowd just asking for your head to be bit off. A new speck of hope bubbles in your stomach as Mark slowly marches back to his seat.
"She's perfection. I could ask for nothing more in a teenage daughter. And I love her." he plainly stated, but it was enough. You were all he could ask for, and it almost made you burst out into tears. He honestly, truly cared about your safety. He cared about your life more than his own. You knew then that you were special, and you knew you had a purpose. No sense in turning back, this was permanent.
You were out of it the whole rest of the panel, but somehow you answered all the questions. It was a shock, you couldn't handle the flow of emotions. When the crowd had gone the two of you stayed behind just embracing in the shadows. Life could never be more perfect.
