"Fueled with the terror of becoming prey, see how quickly we become predator"
"Alby, please. They won't let you out! Please don't do this. Don't do this to me!" Clara looked at him with distraught, he simply ignored her. The doors closing more as her frightful screams filled the glade. Then Alby pushed her in the maze like nothing. Right before the walls slammed shut, Clara continued to scream.
Then it was silent...
Gally breathed out as he was free from the two gladers grip. He fell to his knees as his eyes never left the closed doors in front of him. A few other gladers had tears running down their face as they just stood there, not knowing what to do next. They just killed someone innocent.
Slowly, one by one gladers left and went back to do their own things. "Don't". Gally said as Alby walked by him. Alby stopped and looked over his shoulder slightly to him.
"Don't cross her name out. I want to do it. I'm the one who deserves to do it". Gally wasn't asking. He was ordering.
Alby gave a nod. "Ok". And he to left.
Gally just looked at the closed walls, wiping the tears from his face. He heard footsteps getting closer to him and he was about to tell them off when he noticed it was Nick with Leo by his side. Nick's eyes were red from crying. He finally got himself to stop. He was looking at the closed doors as well.
Leo, had tear stained cheeks but just looked at the ground in front of him.
That night majority of the gladers were at their own little campfires, talking or doing a fun activity. However, their talking came to a stop when they heard a scream pierce throughout the air.
Clara's scream.
No one made any moves or comments. Some even flinched when she screamed again.
Gally, who was sitting with Hank suddenly got up, and walked away. Hank didn't bother stopping him.
Minho, Newt, and Fry just looked at the ground. Even after each scream, it still echoed through their ears.
Nick, who went to bed early, shook his head, feeling more tears build in his eyes. He turned on his side placing his hands over his ears to try and muffle the screams.
Guilt.
That's what majority of them felt. The ones who voted 'yes'. It was eating at them in this very moment.
Grief.
That's what the ones who voted 'no' felt. It felt like someone was pulling at their heart, trying to rip it out of their chest.
Gally walked. He wiped away his tears before they got to his cheeks. His fists then clenched to his sides and he made his way over to where Nick was. He walked up and stood behind where he laid. He was looking at his back, noticing his hands over his ears.
Even if he didn't see that he knew he would be awake. Gally finally spoke. "Nick".
Nick, heard his name being called, moved his hands and sat up in the hammock, turning to the voice who called his name, Gally.
The two just looked at one another for a moment. Defeat and sadness clearly on both of their faces. Gally took in a few breaths, refusing to cry again before he finally spoke once more.
"Is this how you felt when George died?" Gally asked Nick.
"No". Nick answered, his voice rough from crying. "This feels worse."
