The tale of flightless fairy

The Journey begins

As we were going to step on the ship, I saw that someone had pushed me aside and stepped onto the ship, I didn't need to look to know who they were, It was only Avery, Ailsa, and Fay who I know have the audacity to do that. Luckily, Ethan rushed towards me and held me in his arms; otherwise, I would have fallen directly on my face.

He looked towards them, ready to burn them.

"No, I have to calm him. Otherwise... no," I thought... "See, I am fine. You don't need to interfere, you know, I still can ask them one thing, right?" I said with a cheerful smile and winked at him.

He calmed down and became cheerful again. I let out a sigh and we boarded the ship together. As I approached, I found the infamous trio laughing at their so-called joke. I moved to them and calmly said, "You know, as we were going to enter a new phase of our life, I thought... I repeat 'I thought..'. that I could let go of that one thing. But what you did now made me reconsider my decision."

They all stopped and looked awestruck at me, and then Avery said with the sweetest nectar-dripping voice, "Ellie, can you please let it off this time? We will do whatever you say."

"yes now, go to the platform of the ship, and apologize to us. Also, promise to use the term 'lowly kinds' again," I said calmly.

They then looked at each other as if trying to agree, and Avery came forward, saying, "Yes, we agree. It's a deal."

Then I went to Ethan, signaling him to look at the platform, as three of them declared. The whole ship thundered in loud clapping. Ethan was happy, and I was happy looking at his face, which was gleaming more than thousands of suns in the sky.

Then he looked as if something puzzled him. I told him to ask right away.

"Ellie, why don't you directly ask them to stop bullying people and drop off their titles of the finest kinds?" He asked

"See, Ethan, if I did that, then, of course, they will stop bullying. But it will not change their hearts. I want to change their heart and make them understand that no one just becomes the finest by birth. It is deeds that matter, and having powers doesn't make you the strongest. It is the heart which matters." I completed and looked towards Ethan, expecting some kind words from him...

But instead, "Okay, okay, understood Mios Albus. You act like a mother fairy sometimes. I doubt that are you even from our time. It is like you are as old as the origin of fairies is, and also your voice is so cranky." he said, that!

"Do I sound that bad? Wait till I get you,'' I replied in my loudest voice.,

and then he ran, and I followed him. We were chasing each other, and after a few minutes, we both got tired and sat together and we laughed, we laughed like there was no tomorrow, and then I heard him saying, "Well... you don't sound that bad when you are not singing,"

and I chuckled at his words, as we saw the sun now glowing above our heads, guiding our ship to the east, to our dreams and hopes... as we were basking under the sun, wiping sweat from our foreheads, we heard a familiar voice. We turned back, and there was my soul, my beloved Belle.

"I missed you so much," I said, as she continued licking my face.

Then she told me about her struggles living with other beings and how that snorty Almiraj wasn't letting her live in peace. Almiraj was the companion of the leader, and only the greatest of fairies could hold magical beings as companions. I guess in the whole of the paradise, no, in the whole of Fairyland, I am the only one having a companion at 16. Well, she's not only my companion; she is my soul, the only way I can fly—to my dreams and my hopes. I hugged her tight, not wanting to let her go, but I knew I couldn't keep her here too.

As I was weighing my heart to tell her to go back into the basement, I saw 'the voice' gleaming in red color.

"Did you forget, Mios Albus, how to receive it?"Ethan said

I just glared at him and waved my hand slowly, forming an arc in the air. Then we saw it was the leader. it said that the room allotted to me was 006, and my luggage had already been transferred there, and Belle was being transferred to the basement. And then I saw Belle disappearing into thin air. Sometimes I don't like this way; I couldn't even say goodbye. And then not long after, we saw that Ethan's 'the voice' gleamed red too, and he got to know that he had been allotted 007.

I was kinda happy to have him by my side and was going to tell him that. But Ethan, being Ethan, always destroyed his chances to get a few good words from me and said, "Mios Albus, I thought that finally, I would get to meet a few beautiful angel fairies, and I got a room beside you. Now I will have to look after you too. Too much of a work for this little fairy,"

"I didn't tell you to take care of me," I said and stomped off my feet and went towards the cabinet.

I heard Ethan calling me, saying he was sorry, but I ignored him. I am not going to forgive him this time, at least not now. As I was going towards the cabinet, I observed there were about 200 rooms with 4 rooms in a chamber, two on each side. I gasped seeing how majestic it was decorated with candles and floating lamps; the walls and pathway were full of beautiful exotic plants, with a floor made up of magical stones which felt like we were floating when we walked on them. And then when we reached our chamber, I saw that Fay and Avery were already there. So, we four are staying in the same chamber.

"Wow, my luck. You are incredible," I muttered sarcastically.

And then Ethan came in front of me as a kind of 'I am with you, don't worry' gesture. I rolled my eyes but didn't say anything. We four were just standing there.

To break off the awkward silence, I said "hey" to them with a smiling face. Fay came forward and said "hi" with an awkward smile. Considering what we just did to them, it was no surprise when Avery held his arms and moved on with him towards their rooms which were, I think, 004 and 005.

As we saw them moving towards their room, Ethan shrugged as if saying "Whatever" and said, "Why did you even say hi to them?"

"Just my heart said so," I replied

He looked towards me like I was some alien and said, "You know you are a very unpredictable person."

"Yes, I know that." Then I added that ″Fay is not so bad;″

"I remember when those bullies were bothering me one day, and he came to my rescue. I was crying, but when the bullies left, he gave me rose nectar and apologized on their behalf. Then he ran off. I smiled when I thought back to that day. I was so surprised to even thank him that day..."

and then Ethan snapped at me and said, "What happened, Ellie? Thinking about Fay? Well, don't forget he is just one of the finest kinds."

I nodded, weighing the question: Is he one of the finest kinds? I met him twice in my life alone, and both times, I saw a sensible, kind, and just an afraid fairy..., afraid that he would be overshadowed by the other finest kinds and frustrated that he had to follow them. As I was thinking all of this, I saw that I already reached the door of my room and saw that Ethan was yawning.

I chuckled at his yawn and said, "You know Ethan," and he suddenly became serious... I continued, "You sound just like Bungisngis," referring to the one-eyed monster said to reside in the clouds. Many fairy songs describe how funny he sounds when he speaks."

He just looked at me and then surprisingly laughed. I became irritated; it was no fun teasing him if he started to act like this.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked him,

"You always tease me, and I get angry. Then you laugh. I thought we could try something new: you tease me, and I'll laugh. Then you'll be irritated. Good idea, right?

"It's not right," I said, pouting, and instead of replying, just heard him saying,

"I will meet you later, Mios Albus. Rest for now," He walked towards his room as I lay on my bed, lost in thought about Ethan and Fay. I don't even remember when I dozed off to sleep...
