Yeseul looked at the sword at Yeowool's neck in panic. She had to do something to get out of this situation.

»Oh look, they hang out together«, the head of the robbers said as he came closer to their table. Yeseul looked at him and slowly moved her left hand into her pocket. She felt the dagger she had put in there and took it. Her eyes met Hanseong's and she tried to give him a signal. In a quick movement she grabbed the sword at Yeowool's neck with her right hand and rammed the dagger in the thigh of the guy holding the sword. For a short moment she felt the pain of the blade before letting go of the sword and standing up. In a matter of seconds Yeowool, Hanseong and Yeseul stood back-to-back, swords drawn and bow aimed at the attackers. For a moment nobody did anything before one of the assassins moved forward and started the fight.

Yeowool and Hanseong defended themselves with their swords while Yeseul tried to shoot them with arrows. They drifted apart from each other. At first, she blindly shot arrows at the men coming near her before collecting herself and starting to aim properly. Suddenly she felt pain in her left forearm. One of them had stroke her with a sword. In pain and panic she rammed the dagger in his shoulder. Her eyes searched for Yeowool. She found him fighting against the leader of the robbers. Next, she saw Hanseong defending himself against one of the in black-dressed assassins. She shot an arrow in the back of that man. The younger Hwarang thanked her with a short nod before turning to one of the other assassins. Yeseul noticed someone running towards her and shot an arrow into his shoulder making him fall on the ground. She searched for Yeowool again who was still fighting with the same man. Their eyes met and he nodded at her slightly before giving the leader a strong hit.

»Run!«, he shouted, »Let's run!« Yeseul looked around herself and noticed that one of the entrances to the pub was clear. She nodded.

»Let's run!«, she shouted as well and looked at Hanseong. He seemed a little surprised at first but as she nodded in the direction of the free entrance he understood. Quickly the three turned away from their opponent and started running towards the entrance. They ran and ran as fast as they could. Yeseul looked behind her and saw two of the assassins and one of the robbers following them.

»They're following us!«, she told them.

»Alright, then let's...«, Yeowool said and looked around, »Left, now!« The three turned into an alley to their left but as she looked back again she saw them still following.

»More turns!«, Hanseong suggested. In panic they turned right into the next alley. After that left again. The attackers grew further away from them. After turning into different alleys for a while Yeowool got slower and stopped behind the edge of a building. Out of breath they leaned against the wall. They had stains of blood on a few parts of their clothes and Yeseul noticed cuts in the fabric of the two Hwarang too. Yeowool peeked into the alley they came from.

»I think they lost us«, he said still trying to catch a breath, »I didn't plan to run so much today.« The last bit made them smile for a moment.

»Me neither«, Hanseong added.

»Same goes for me«, Yeseul agreed as she slid down the wall to sit down. The sun was already going down. She looked at the beautiful sky. For a moment nobody said anything. They just stood and sat there trying to regulate their breathing again.

»Let's stay at an inn tonight«, Yeowool suggested after thinking for a while, »We can't go home, they most likely know where we live.«

»That's probably true«, Hanseong agreed. Yeseul nodded. Yeowool looked around for something where they could stay.
