Authors POV

As Y/n returned to her hotel room after a long day of exploration, her mind buzzed with the events of the day.

Upon entering her room, she noticed an unmarked envelope resting on her neatly made bed. Curiosity piqued, she approached and gingerly picked it up. The paper felt crisp in her hands as she carefully tore it open, revealing a handwritten letter nestled inside.

The handwriting was elegant, each stroke deliberate and precise, yet the words were cryptic, sending a shiver down Y/n's spine.

"Be careful of hidden dangers. Not everyone is as they seem. Trust your instincts."

Her heart raced as she read and reread the words, the implications sinking in. Who could have sent her this ominous warning? And why?

Just then, Hana's voice broke through her reverie. "Y/n, are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Y/n quickly hid the letter behind her back, plastering on a smile. "Oh, I'm fine, just a bit tired from all the walking."

Hana narrowed her eyes, clearly not convinced. "Are you sure? You seem... off."

Y/n waved her off, trying to sound nonchalant. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just need a good night's sleep, that's all."

But even as she tried to dismiss Hana's concerns, Y/n's mind raced with questions. Who would send her such a cryptic message, and why now?

As she pondered these questions, a memory flashed through her mind, unbidden and unwelcome. It was Minho's voice, low and urgent, as he spoke on the phone earlier that day. "I'll be there in the basement," he had said, his tone filled with secrecy. "I don't want Y/n to know about this whole situation."

The mention of the basement sent a chill down Y/n's spine, her mind reeling with possibilities. What was Minho hiding? And why did he not want her to know?

With a steely resolve, Y/n folded the letter and tucked it into her pocket, her mind made up. She knew she had to uncover the truth, no matter

Y/N's POV

I stood at the entrance of the basement, the cold air biting at my skin. Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the creaky door and descended into the abyss. Each step felt heavier than the last, my heart pounding in my chest as the dim light from the bulb overhead flickered ominously.

The basement was exactly as I imagined it would be: dark, damp, and filled with the musty scent of neglect. The walls were lined with cobwebs, and the floor was covered in a thick layer of dust. Every creak and groan of the old structure sent chills down my spine, but I pressed on, determined to uncover whatever secrets lay hidden here.

As I went deeper,

The silence was suddenly shattered by the sharp crack of a gunshot echoing through the basement. My blood ran cold, and a wave of terror surged through me. Instinctively, I began to step back, my breath coming in short, panicked gasps.

Just as I was about to turn and flee, I collided with something solid. No, not something—someone. My back pressed against a hard, rock-like chest, and a shiver of fear shot through me.

Before I could react, a deep, hushed voice whispered in my ear, sending a jolt of both fear and confusion through my entire being.

"No matter where you go, I'll always be there, darling."

His breath was warm against my ear, the words both haunting and strangely comforting. My mind raced, trying to make sense of what he had said, but before I could process it, everything went black.
