Jimin finds himself reading his students homework while wrapped in the arms of his boyfriend. It's not the kind of thing he thought he end up doing this year. His expectations were never this high. Still, he enjoys every moment he spends with Yoongi. The man's been getting closer and closer to him and he has to admit that the way he helped him with Jeon's case only made him fall harder. Yoongi plays over his shirt, drawing imaginary circles with his fingertips while giving him soft kisses on the cheek.- You're extra sweet today
- I have to make the best of this time with you. I'll leave in a while to meet up with a friend
- With who?
- Hobi, one of my besties. I need to tell him that I wanna investigate my brother's case again. I feel like I'm missing something
- You want me to help?
- No, it's the kind of thing I need to do on my own.
Jimin nods, understanding. It's a personal journey for Yoongi and he won't insist if the other won't ask for that. He goes back to reading and enjoying the kisses until he gets to Beomgyu's essay. He sits up better in place re-reading those words.
- What is it?
- Something's wrong
- With what? Ah, Beomgyu? The new kid?
- Look, read this.
Yoongi takes the papers. Jimin had asked for the students to write a monologue on whatever subject they wanted. And it's true that this kid chose a pretty depressing point of view.
- It sounds dramatically sad, yes. But most teenagers tend to be like that
- Yeah, I know...
Jimin looks down at the healed scars on wrists. With care, Yoongi places his hand over them leaving a soft touch that makes him close his eyes.
- You wanna talk about it?
- There's not much to talk about. I didn't wanna live anymore, that's it.
- Why?
- My life was ruined. I could only have nightmares when going to sleep. During the day everything sucked, I couldn't focus on my studies, I stopped dancing because I lost all energy. Eventually, I gave up. My mother found me and took me to the hospital.
- I remember you mentioning that. You read a book that made you cry.
- Yes...and I decided to leave Busan that night. I left where nothing could remind me of the Jimin I used to be
- How was the old Park Jimin? Too different?
- Oh, I was a fucking idiot. A careless dumbass prone to dangerous situations.
Just to say those words gives him goosebumps. Yoongi can feel the way muscles tense mentioning danger. The boy always so cryptic, without spelling the details. It's obvious he's not fully ready to talk about it.
- Did someone hurt you?
Jimin turns to look at him. He knows he doesn't need to answer if he doesn't want to. And his silence says more than any words. Yoongi holds him close, keeping him safe in his arms to let him know he can relax again. Jimin still wonders deep inside what made Yoongi act this way. When they met he was sweet but there was a cold facade mixed with it. It seems to be gone for now, although he has no idea what changed.
The following day, Jimin walks up to the principal's office. Yoongi offered to talk to him but he prefers to explain his reasons himself.
- Park? You don't usually show up out of nowhere, everything okay?
