Author's POV

Exiting the trial room she saw him busy on a call and decided to try until she was at the brink of defeat. She politely asked the nearby standing saleswoman to help her find her fold necklace that might be somewhere inside the clothes she tried or sunk to the shining floor. The helper immediately agreed as they surfed around every nook and corner to find the charming golden pendant.

With her face contorted in fear, her heart clenching inside her body she fiercely removed the locks from her face to bend and search for the most precious thing she had ever held. A tap on her shoulder startled her. Ishaan looked at her in confusion as he saw her tensed self. He simply cupped her face not caring about the viewers as he asked, "What's wrong, Anvi?"

"I lost the pendant you gave me. We have checked the entire boutique but it's nowhere" she said making him halt for a moment. He kept looking at her blankly for a minute making her shrug out of his hold. She simply said, "I am sorry" before trying to walk away. The keyword was 'trying' as she couldn't even take a step away from him. He pulled her back making her soft frame land on his muscular chest. Tenderly tucking her hair behind her ear he asked, "Is that the reason behind the tears in your eyes?"

She nodded silently, not knowing what to say as he assessed those tears that hadn't even cascaded down her face. He sighed, joining his forehead to hers as he said, "Doesn't matter. It was just a locket. Calm down"

"Par Ishaan vo aapka favorite tha (But Ishaan it was your favorite)," she said, not knowing how he could be at peace even after knowing she lost it.

"Aapse zyada nahi (Not more than you)," he answered, smiling at his woman, relieving all her worries at once. She looked up at him in surprise. His thumb roamed over her soft cheeks, sending a buzz of warmth down her spine.

"We don't hurt our own Anvi, even for our own. My father didn't reside in that pendant, he lives in my heart. For the man who meant everything to me in the past, I won't hurt the woman who means everything to me in the present, cupcake. Now smile for me," he said while she hugged him hard as he welcomed her gladly in his embrace.
