Safety

The sunlight flared in my eyes peaking through the trees and awakening me. I yawned and stretched my legs out feeling Lu wiggle as I woke him up. We needed to leave now who knows where they are now and I was not risking getting caught again. We would go into town and I would rent a room out, that would be the safest option.

I shook Lu fully awake. He groaned and opened his mouth in a long yawn. Before mumbling incoherently and trying to snuggle back to sleep.

" No no honey, we have to get up now" I whispered treading my fingers lightly through his hair.

" Come on baby, we have a big day ahea of us". I said trying to get up to climb down the tree.

"I'm tired" He whined barely opening his eyes.

" I know, you'll be able to sleep when we get to safety baby, lets go" He finally gave up and gripped around my neck to hold on as I descended the tree.

When I got to the floor I put him on his feet, so I could stretch my back out. But two seconds later I felt his little hands grabbing at me for me to pick him up again. It was the cutest thing I have ever witnessed so I complied and rested him on my hip while he put his face into my neck and started to snood lightly.

Little bugger I laughed, he tricked me so he could go back to sleep but I couldn't help but feel so happy and content with how he felt so comfortable and dependent on me. I began our long walk. Heading into town.

Yes I was naked but I'd find clothes on the way, I had been in these forest for years and had left clothes in a few trees all around the perimeter. I walked up to one of the trees and pulled out a white t-shirt and blue flared jeans. When I finished dressing I looked to Lu, his clothes were all dirty and ripped and I rummaged through my clothes in the tree to find another plain white t-shirt and blue basketball shorts, that were about three sizes to small for me.
I quickly dressed him pushing his hair from his face. His face was also dirty so I began to wipe it off with my hands.

" All better" I said when I was finished.
" We still have quite a walk do you want me to carry you again" I asked looking to him.

He nodded his head and held his arms out. I chuckled and pulled him into my arms once again holding him on my hip and it was then that I realized we were matching. What a coincidence. The thought made me smile, I did always want kids, when I finally found my mate to settle down and have little ones running around everywhere but now that would never happen. He ruined that for me. I would live out my life alone and isolated. But now I realized there was hope in my life. Light, and it was because of the little angel in my arms, the thing that has become the most important thing to me in the last day.

My one and only priority.
