I carried Lu on my hip as he snored sound asleep in my arms. We had made it through the forest and onto the roads of the humans. I had many quarrels with them but I always preferred to be secluded to the forest but now with lu I needed to find a motel to wash up and actually have blankets to sleep. Next thing I needed was for him to get sick and have no money for the hospital.
I would find a motel and then go around for jobs possibly a room cleaner with the hotel maybe I could persuade the owner to let me work there for free stay. I was very persuasive when I wanted to be. I hiked on the boulevard passing corner stores and gas stations till I finally found a motel. The Vermont inns. Very original name.
Lu began to come to looking up at me with his big eyes.
"Where are we?" He asked.
"Were safe for now baby go back to sleep I'll wake you up when it's time" I told him as he closed his eyes and within seconds was sound asleep again.
I passed through the door to the reception to be greeted by a grumpy looking old lady.
"How can I help you on this day" she grunted out.
"I'd like to get a room with one large bed and also is the owner around"? I asked clearly.
"One room coming up and he's here somewhere I will ring him up for you" she said more nicely noticing the baby in my arms.
She buzzed something on her desk and a intercom came up.
"Mr. Parcon please come to the reception someone would like to speak with you.
"Thank you" I replied going to sit down in one of the chairs.
Within minutes a big burly man came through the door. With jeans and a blazer. The blazer did not suit him but at the same time made him look very attractive. He had big blue eyes a very large muscular frame and long hair with dark brown facial hair. He looked like a lumberjack.
"How may I help you" he asked turning to me in a very growled out deep voice but also so soothing at the same time.
"My names Dafeara Ramirez and id like to have a job in you're hotel" I said clearly no sugar coating.
" oh I see and what are you're qualifications"? He asked.
" I clean houses but I don't have enough clients to make a living and need something more stable." I said slightly a lie but he doesn't need to know that I've been living in the woods for 21 years.
He had a look of intense thinking on his face and turned to me and said
"Ok you have a job here we need another receptionist and I would have you as a housekeeper but with you're looks I don't need any trouble the people that come in here aren't the best sort. Any man would kill to have you as his and with a baby it wouldn't be very safe. For extra you can clean my room and my families rooms but no one else's. We will discuss days and times later today Elma will set you in a room."He turned to Elma was her name nodded and walked out.
I guess il just come to the reception later tonight.
"You're room is room 173 here's you're key. It's upstairs and to the left" Elma said as she handed me a key and left to the back room.
Very strange bunch I thought as I walked out side and up the stairs to our room. The key turned easily in the lock and it opened to not to bad of a room. Had a small living area one king size bed a fridge and a bathroom with a full shower and bath tub. This wouldn't be bad.
I set Lu down in the bed under the sheets as I sat next to him staring at him sleep. I'd try my best to raise him and care for him as he deserves. Now I had preschool and that sort on my mind and I had no idea where to begin. This would definitely be a new beginning for me, a fresh start in the very unfamiliar.
