Minho was rummaging through his old trunks, boxes, every shelf and corner in his room. No sign of it. He was looking for his bracelet.
He had finally found the answers to why the bracelet looked familiar. Hyunjin was the long haired boy that saved him from drowning and also played with him when he used to visit the pond everyday.
He had recalled, with the help of Chan, that the Queen was highly concerned about her son's safety and did not want their enemies to harm the only heir to their throne, so when she got to know about him visiting the pond and even meeting up with another child there, she had to stop him. She had him engaged in other activities so as to refrain him from going there.
"Goodness, where is it!"
Minho was exhausted, his room was large. It could be anywhere. It could be with his mother- Right! Why did he not think about it before? He bolted out the door, down the hallways, and sneaked into her room.
The Queen wasn't present in her room at the time. He sucked in a deep breath and started searching for it.
The drawers and the boxes, no sign of it. He did not forget to keep the Queen's cosmetics and accessories in their respective places again, so that she would not get suspicious.
He then approached his mother's vault, where she kept all her jewelries, he knew where she kept the key. There was a cactus plant in the room, the key was taped on the underside of the pot.
He unlocked the vault and after some rummaging, he found a small box. When he opened it, there laid the bracelet. The exact same one that he had recalled.
He then quickly locked the vault again, after keeping the empty box in its original spot.
"Minho?"
His mother's voice startled him, but he quickly regained his composure.
"Mother, I wanted to ask your permission on a matter." He stated.
"Sure, dear," The Queen smiled softly. "What is it?"
"I need to visit Felix on this Saturday. May I go?" He asked, curtly.
"Fine, you can." His mother raised an eyebrow.
"Thank you, mother," He nodded as a gesture. "I'll take my leave then."
He quickly left the room, the bracelet hidden in his dress pocket. Luckily, the Queen had not noticed.
. . .
Saturday was soon to come. Minho paced back and forth in his room, with his bracelet in hand. He felt like if he did not tell Hyunjin, he would slip away.
