River had gone to bed after a few movies and beers after her encounter with both Kyle and Jason. She still hasn't fully processed the fact she slept with the both of them ... twice, or the fact that they've been so casual about it. She fell asleep quickly that night, due to the amount of cardio she had done and out of pure exhaustion.
Her roommates stayed up way longer, talking about their studies and whatnot, not even mentioning both their fascination with River and her body... as if nothing had happened. She woke up late the next morning, still basking in the afterglow of the day before. She got dressed into a white, skin-tight dress and matching blazer and white stilettos, letting her pink locks flow free. She emerged from her room, her roommates nowhere to be seen, she grabbed her bag and her jacket, left the apartment, and headed to the office.
River worked for a high fashion company, she modeled here and there but right now, she was the assistant to her stylist Steven. Steven worked magic on his dresses, his trademark were crystals and crystal dresses. He loved designing things that looked like chandeliers, covered in crystals and glitter all over to make the model shine. River didn't like modeling as much as she thought, so she decided to focus on the actual art she wore on the runway and became a part-time assistant for Steven. The money was good, and she enjoyed it. She also still got to keep some of the pieces Steven didn't want to be actioned off, and he knew he's pieces would be appreciated by River.River entered the office, Steven handing her a cup of coffee just how she liked it, strong and extra foamy.
She got to work assisting Steven all afternoon, making sure everything was how he wanted it. Not think about Kyle and Jason, let alone Lucas until she bumped into one of her old acquaintances, Chloe, she was one of Kyle's old flings. She and River bumped into each other at a restaurant where River was picking up Steven's lunch.
She was wearing a hoodie that caught River's eye, it was a university club hoodie, Lucia's hoodie. She couldn't help but feel a little rage and frustration as she tough about Lucas and Chloe, even if that was hypocritical from her, she still couldn't stand the thought that Lucas was fucking Chloe. She stormed back to the office with Steven's much and took her lunch break, sulking in the staff room, scrolling through Chloe's social media to see if her feelings were correct. To her disappointment, she saw a post of Chloe and Lucas hanging out, her heart sinking and feeling melancholic over her past relationship. She knew Lucas was across the country now, in LA, but the fact he probably slept with Chloe right after they broke up and he moved away made her sad and angry. How could he jump into another woman so fast? It took her over a month and some liquor to fall into bed with Kyle and Jason! She grieved their relationship, she still was!
She finishes her day of work and heads home. Walking through the apartment door, threw her jacket, bag, and blazer down, and kicked her heels off.
She sees Jason and Kyle on the couch, as usual, watching a show on the flatscreen in silence before they notice her entering. They both smile, River walks over and plops down between them on the couch, her mood still sour."How was your day?" Kyle asks as he notices her mood. River leans her head on Kyle's shoulder, bringing her feet up on the couch and warming them under Jason's thighs.
"Fine" she sighs unenthusiastically, her mind was still swirling with thoughts of Lucas and Chloe, what if Lucas had always wanted to fuck her? That both of them just waited for her and Lucas to break up so they could pound like rabbits while she wallowed in her depression... or worse? What if they were fucking even before they had broken up? Were those 2 years just a lie? A waste?
She couldn't help but sigh again and lay down fully. She was laying her head in Kyle's lap and moving her legs into Jason's. Now both are concerned with her mood being so bad."What's up with you?" Jason asked as he got comfortable moving a tad closer so most of River's legs were resting on his.
"Nothing" she mumbled as she closed her eyes, getting comfortable as she used Kyle's lap as a pillow. Kyle slowly started to stroke her soft pink hair, soothing her further as Jason stroked her legs*
"I'm just depressed" she sighed, still not over the sight of Chloe in Lucas's hoodie.
"Well stop" Kyle chuckled as he continued stroking her hair.
"I saw Chloe today" She responds, Kyle is caught off guard by the mention of a fling name. And he hummed for her to elaborate.
"You think she's prettier than me?" She asked without really thinking and Kyle chuckled again and shook his head.
"Chloe is hot but not that hot" he answers and that only makes River disappointedly, obviously not what she wanted to hear.
"I think she's sleeping with Lucas"
"I thought he moved to LA," Jason asked with confusion on his face.
"Before he left" River responds
"He left like a week after you broke up?" Kyle continues stroking her hair, trying to relax her a bit more.
"What an asshole" Jason shakes his head.
River nods, her eyes still closed.
"You can't do much about that" Kyle shrugged "Just forget about him, we'll watch a movie" he flicked through the movies on the screen, picking she might enjoy.
