I love you guys so much! And I'm so happy to announce this to you guys. I have changed some of the plot points and added new chapters to Wren's Attendant so that it hopefully seems like an entirely new story.
Now... I present to you, the new Prologue of Wren's Attendant.....
Prologue - Two Years Ago
Kyra
If gods didn't exist and were a thing of legends, how could one stand before me in the galley door? I questioned everything I knew as I took in his complete from head to toe. He was so tall that my neck strained as I tilted my head up to look him in the eyes. His dark black hair came forward as he looked down at me, falling in waves around his face, stopping just under his chin.
The eyes that stared back at me were more gorgeous than any I had ever seen in real life. Dark circles outlined the edge of his iris and the interior just around the pupil. But the center of the iris was a hazel mixed with several shades of brown and peppered with flecks of gold and green. I was at a loss for words as I lost myself as his gaze fixed on me, his eyes locked with mine.
Using my peripheral vision, I was able to take in the rest of the face before me. A strong jaw led to a chin that must have been chiseled of marble-like statues of antiquity. The nose in the center of his face was prominent and yet somehow perfectly fit his face. On anyone else, it would have seemed too big. But on this man, it was a masterpiece.
When his tongue peaked out before he bit his bottom lip gently, my eyes broke the stare and darted to his mouth. His lips were sitting in the middle of his full beard, which was thick and dark, covering the skin of his cheeks. Those lips looked so soft and inviting that my brain waves went flat as I watched them part before forming words I couldn't hear. It took me a moment to restart my brain and return to the moment.
"I'm sorry, Sir, what?"
"Who are you?"
I blinked before I answered him. "I'm Kyra."
"Why are you on my jet, Kyra?"
"Oh. I'm your flight attendant for this trip. The charter service sent me over." I replied to the stoic man before me, not believing my luck could be this good.
"Hmm." Killian Wren stared at me with something akin to a glare but slightly kinder. "Are you good at your job?"
"I think I am." I stood up straighter, letting his spell on me break as I tilted my head to the side while he stared at me.
"I guess we'll see." His eyes moved over my body, taking in my clunky shoes first. Then, my loose-fitting pants, my blouse that was one size too big and buttoned up to my neck, and then the bun on top of my head. "You don't look like the other attendants the service usually sends over."
"I'll take that as a compliment." I gave him a wry smile and turned to the little oven as it dinged.
"What are you making?"
"Quiche," I replied without looking in Mr. Wren's direction as I pulled the hot pan from the oven before placing another tray inside and shutting the door.
