"What has gotten into you!?" Scarlett's dad stares at her as she sits at the dining table. "Why did you start a fight?"
She sat there with her head down. In her head she had her own conversation, tuning out the words her father was saying.
"I didn't start it. I finished it." Scarlett's eyes held a strong gaze.
"How did it start?" He lets out a big sigh.
"She's a bully and I was tired of her making rude remarks at me."
"Why did you use your Fists?"
"She hit me first." She shrugged.
"Fine." Her dad continued. " I'm glad you stood up for yourself. But, you should hold back. You broke her nose."
"I did! Ahem. Oh, I did." She sounded to happy her dad raised an eyebrow.
"Don't let it happen again."
"Yes."
Behind Scarlett, leaning against the wall with his arm crossed was Liam watching and listening to the conversation. " I worried for nothing." He smiled down at Scarlett.
"That's because I'm a good girl."
Liam stood there in a scowl watching her walk away. He hated it, especially with her dad standing there. But, he couldn't deny it. His cock wanted her.
"Thank you, man." Scarlett's dad sliced through Liam's thoughts. "Thank you for picking her up."
"No problem."
"She must have called you first. She always did run to you when she's in trouble." Scarlett's dad let out a chuckle. "Who am I kidding? She not a little girl anymore. What am I going to do?"
"How about a beer?"
"You read my mind."
They both let out soft chuckles. "She's dressing up. Don't think I didn't notice. Then, she's fighting. What's next? A bad boy boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? I doubt any boy peeks her interest."
Liam knew for a fact where her interests lie.
"How are you so sure she's not going to bring home a boy then say she's pregnant?"
Because she's not dealing with boys. Because I'm going to teach her, no boy will be able to please her. Because.... "Because she tells me everything and she's a smart girl."
"Thank you for looking after her, man" Scarlett dad patted Liam's shoulder.
A couple beers in and the conversation topics got lighter. From sports to fishing and high schools days to old friends, they always had something to talk about.
"Let's plan a getaway trip soon." Liam suggested.
"You? Mr.CEO. Can you really run away?" Scarlett's dad laughed.
"All I can do is try. Besides it's really for you and Rosy to connect again. I'm just going to meditate if she gets punchy." He joked the last part.
"I'm kinda heart broken. I know you're going to take her side."
"Stop being a child." They both continue to laugh.
"Alright, I need to get going." Liam finally said through the laughter.
"What!? Already?"
"I've got a business to run."
"At 7 o'clock at night?"
