" I thought about how there are two types of secrets: The kind you want to keep in, and the kind you don't dare let out."

"The deal was clear. Pay a percentage to work out of my territory." Liam said to a man gagged and tied to a chair.

"Maybe in wasn't clear enough." Kane grinned sticking a knife into the poor man's leg. The cries echoed throughout the warehouse. Kane proceeded to stick another knife into the man. Liam raised an eyebrow. Curious as to why he was agitated. Not just today but for the last week. Kane kicked the man to the ground listening to the desperation in the man's voice as he takes the gag off.

" I-I swear. I've been paying the fees."

"Then figure out who has been taking the money." Liam unties the man's hands. Fear washes over the man. Because he knows if Liam has to find the culprit himself bodies will drop like flies. Before leaving the man Kane "accidentally" steps on his ankle breaking it.

"Gaaaa!" Sweet agony pleased Kane.

"What a nice surprise." Liam arrives to his office with the local police standing infront of his desk.

"Mr.knight, I'd appreciate it if you'd let us do our jobs."

"Now, Officer Finnley, what could you be talking about?" Liam took a seat in his chair.

"Look. Your guys won't let me near this case and I need something, anything . I need to work too." Officer Finnley sat comfortably in the chair provided. "Let me close this case with a ..dept in drugs and death by suicide or something.

"I can assure you I have nothing to do with  "this" case of yours." Liam casually flips through papers.

"The fact you're not controlling this conversation means it's wasn't you. But, who ever it was is hiding behind you."

"Seems like a lot of things are slipping through my fingers. Hm? Let's make deal."

Officer Finnley hesitated for a minute. Is what he needs worth it?

"What is it?"

"I'll lend you a hand. In return let me clean up my people how I see fit." Liam's eyes went from natural to empowering.

That last part of his deal. "How I see fit."  That was the part that worried the officer. That only meant one thing, missing people. Missing people? No. Dead people. Always dead.

"Mr.knight, your business is your business. But, there is only so much I can do to keep it so called "legal" if I need to get involved."

"Then, you should work hard. You needed work anyways, right?"

Officer Finnley sighed. He looked at this smiling demon with defeat.

After the officer left Liam  pondered whether he should see Scarlett. It had been almost two weeks since that night and to his surprise she hasn't messaged or called. His mind was going negative. Did she not want this? Was she having second thoughts? Which, he gave her many warning. So, if she did maybe it's for the better. Or, did her heart change to Michael Kane?

It was only allegations. After watching Michael,  it didn't look like he got what he wanted. Does he know what he wants?

He does.
