Author's Note: So...not only do we lose Chris, fans also have to accept the fact that favorites Street and Luca have been downgraded to recurrent roles. But the question still remains: how did Street end up in Long Beach SWAT?

Anybody know? Well, here is A fan's take!

------------------------

It was a hot Sunday morning outside, with temperatures reaching all time highs. While breeze was scarce outside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee swarmed the entire apartment. He made sure to put in enough for two big mugs, one for him and one for Chris, when she got home.

RRRIIIIINNNNGGGG

The ringing cellphone on top of the counter called, as he poured the hot liquid into his favorite mug and placed it down slowly between the dozens of pamphlets, papers and other official documents on the table. His laptop was closed, since it was charging after yet another long night.

GULP

"Ahhhhh" he said, satisfied with the soothing hot liquid ran down his system.

"Hey Luca!"

"Hey, man! How are you? How's lil Lupe?" Luca answered concerned.

"She's ok. Chris staid with her last night, to give Helena a break. It took a lot to convince her, but Chris made sure she got home and at least got descent sleep."

"Oh, man! Any news from the doc? I mean- is she getting better?"

"Well, they umped her meds and increased her therapies, so...probably not going to see improvement until tomorrow."

"Oh, ok. Well, I do hope she gets better. I texted Chris last night and she was worried about her little cousin quite a bit. She said Sarzo was outta town on a job..?"

"Yeah, huge job by Santa Barbara. A townhouse renovation -place looks more like a mansion to me!"

"Yeah?"

"But...at least the whole family is chipping in. Chris, Helena, Thomas, Mary and another aunt are rotating while Lupe's mom works...she just started a new job, so, she's nervous about skipping days so early in the contract!"

"Yeah, that's understandable."

"Yeah, we went to see her yesterday morning. Lupe's still with the tube, but we're hoping with the therapies and the meds, docs can control her asthma."

"I was watching the news about the sand storms and the wildfires reaching LA in pure dust storms!"

"Yup! In SWAT, we've already had to participate in two rescue operations. One by a lake and another one in the national park."

"Oh my God! People actually going out with the air quality so horrible?"

"A surfer had to be resuscitated after being hit with respiratory arrest yesterday during night shift!"

"That's crazy! Dude doesn't know the golden rule, or what? Never go in the water alone, especially if you can't see or... breath!" Luca said sternly, followed by a long sigh of frustration.

"Exactly!" Street agreed, taking a small sip of his coffee.

"Anyway, how's the prep work going?"

"Great!" Street responded overly excited. He placed the mug down and took a quick look at the mess of papers in front of him. "I already got the pamphlets and the manuals. I'm going by each one, then quizzing myself on them. And check this out!"
