The eternal night, BOOK 1

Chapter 6

They ventured through the night forest, keeping close as they watch ahead. Marigoldtail pricked her ears. " do you hear that?" Windclaw paused.
She could hear mumbling, as if two cats were talking quite far away from here.
" this way." Windclaw pointed her muzzle to an eerie dark place near the thick trees and bushes.
They both crept into the darkest part of the night forest. The thick blackness made it too hard for the two to see.
Windclaw heard rustling, then walking, and then a growl. It had to be him, she just couldn't see it.
" m-marigoldtail, are you still there?" She asked fearfully, trying to see as much as she can, she could just make out the faint body shape of marigoldtail. " phew," Windclaw was relieved to know she was still there, but there was no time for that if there was another cat around here somewhere. 
" maybe we should head back Windclaw, we are being disloyal to our clans" marigoldtail slowed down, catching pace with Windclaw.
" I know," Windclaw muttered. " I just really wanna know if the cat is real." She looked down at the dark floor.
" but your right. We should go, this is dangerous and we aren't even from the same clans."
Marigoldtail nodded and they both padded along the gnarled,twisted tree trunks. Suddenly, something whooshed past the two cats.
" what was that!?" Marigoldtail started backing up, ready to leap onto whatever it aa that was hiding. " let's get out of here whilst we can!" Windclaw said, she darted off, leaving marigoldtail behind. No, I should go back for her. Windclaw turned around and sprinted back.
Windclaw was stunned. Marigoldtails body lay limp on the ground, her legs splayed, showing all the gruesome injuries the cat had left. Windclaw looked closer, Marigoldtails eyes were clouded with nothing but death. The reek of blood made Windclaw wanna hurl, and she knew she could stay there anymore.
She bent down to Marigoldtails lifeless body.
" I will avenge you."
