"Hey! Have you caught wind of the latest rumors?"
Beam glanced up from his notes, a puzzled expression on his face as he saw the eager student standing in front of him in the library. A few people nearby glanced over at them. He flashed them a quick smile.
"Let's keep it down, Niki. We're in the library." He returned his focus to his notes.
"Aren't you even the least bit curious?" Niki asked, taking a seat in front of him and folding her hands on the table.
She was in the same department as him and someone he could call an acquaintance. They frequently spent time together for academic reasons, but their relationship didn't extend beyond that. Beam wouldn't classify her as a friend; she was more like a talkative person. She only knew what Beam allowed her to know.
"Unless it's something significant, I'm not interested. You mentioned it's just gossip, and gossip never leads to anything good." He flipped through his business mathematics notes.
"Oh, come on, it's intriguing!"
He quickly glanced over at her and noticed her playfully moving her well-maintained eyebrows. "Keep going. You're not going to stop gossiping just because I ask you to."
"You're the head of the student council. If anyone should be informed about these things first, it should be you," she argued. "Whether it's good or bad news, it's always good to be in the loop."
"Alright." He sighed, setting his pen aside. "Spill the beans on who's cheating on who this time."
A wide smile spread across her face as she leaned in. "You know that Gem from the Chemistry department?"
Beam raised an eyebrow. "The cheerleader captain you're always talking about."
"Yep. You won't believe what I just heard." She wiggled her brows again.
Beam let out an exasperated sigh. "Just spill it already."
It was clear that she wouldn't stop talking until she finished her story. Honestly, he was getting tired of all the gossip. It seemed like ever since those exchange students arrived, drama had been non-stop.
Niki couldn't contain her laughter and covered her mouth. "Guess what? She cheated on her boyfriend with one of the new exchange students and he's absolutely livid."
Niki hummed. "The new student isn't a pushover. He's also from a big family, so when Sharp tried to confront him, he fought back. It was a mess and the last I heard, the management had to step in."
Beam let out a sigh. This was nothing new. Gem and her cousin Lin were famous in the university for their looks and dancing skills. But both of them were the type who didn't want to settle down. They changed boyfriends as often as they changed clothes, and sometimes things got out of hand.
"I heard Forth skipped out on Sharp's party again. People saw him this morning with new hickeys," she continued. "Man, I don't even know who it is this time."
He almost rolled his eyes but refrained. "You don't need to know. What he does in his personal time is none of our concern."
"Aw, come on, Beamie. Aren't you a bit curious?" She made a face. "He's one of the popular jocks and a player, but no one really knows who he's been with unless they spill the beans themselves. That guy is way too secretive for his own good."
This time, Beam couldn't help but scoff. He wanted to spill the beans about Forth being in his bed and how he had to sweet talk him with multiple kisses and a mind-blowing experience to get him in the mood.
"I wonder if he's already taken? I've heard people say he's been smelling like an omega lately. Do you happen to know any omegas who smell like sweet sandalwoods?"
