"Get the hell away from my sons!"

Corey Jaturapoom was on the verge of transforming into her wolf form as the strong smell of her son's blood reached her nostrils. She had already been heading towards the building with the required supplies when she got a call from the building management.

She couldn't comprehend why there were police officers outside Forth's apartment and what her son had done to deserve such a situation. But whatever she had anticipated, it wasn't this. The scene resembled a massacre, with injured officers lying on the ground, some barely conscious.

Amidst the chaos, her son lay motionless on the floor, appearing unconscious.

Was that his blood?

Standing protectively above him was Beam.

Oh, my God!

Beam never shifted outside of their camping trips in the forest.

What the hell happened here? Why the hell is my son injured?

With her hands trembling, she accidentally dropped the things she was holding while desperately searching for her phone. All the while, she kept her eyes fixed on the officers. She quickly dialed for an ambulance and then called her husband in a rush. Finally, she hurried over to her son, a pained whimper escaping her lips as she saw that he had indeed been shot.

My precious Forth.

Beam was diligently licking the wound, desperately attempting to halt the bleeding. The sight of the flesh gradually knitting back together brought some relief. It seemed like a superficial wound, and the healing properties of a mate's saliva were working their magic. Beam was giving it their all, but the situation was concerning since Forth had lost a significant amount of blood.

The fresh mating bite on Beam's neck was painfully evident. It was heartbreaking to see. It hadn't been that long since they had mated, and the wound hadn't even had a chance to fully heal yet. The lingering scent of their combined presence filled the air, and it was agonizing to think about the pain Beam must be enduring.

"My baby, what have they done to you?" she cried.

Kneeling on the floor beside him, she gently caressed Forth's hair, unfazed by the blood staining her clothes. He was her one and only son, the very essence of her happiness. How could anyone bear to harm him, when he was overflowing with love?

"Ma'am," a voice called out, trembling with fear. "Your son has kidnapped a student from the college. There are plenty of witnesses to the crime. We're here to save the victim."

Beam's wolf growled, baring its sharp fangs, but Beam himself remained focused on tending to his injured mate.

With a fierce snarl, she turned her head to face the police officer who was cradling his hand. "What the hell did you just say?" Her eyes glowed with a yellow hue, a clear sign of her wolf. "And your brilliant response was to invade his house and shoot him?"

"He attacked us first," he defended.

Beam's wolf growled once more, raising its head and snapping its jaws towards the officer.

"He was protecting his mate," she snarled. "What did you expect when you barged into the home of a dominant alpha whose mate is in heat?"

"Ma'am, but we received—"

"Is the abducted omega's name Beam Baramee?" she asked.

She had no clue what the heck went down and what made them show up and go after her son, but she knew Forth. Beam was the sole omega in his world.
