On the fateful night of October 24, a truck had struck Donald Na and killed him. His last thoughts were him wondering if he could've been friends with Gray Yeon if they had met earlier. Eunjang had witnessed his deaths and had immediately called for an ambulance. Gray attempted to stop the bleeding and apply first aid, but it was futile. Donald Na passed away before he even reached the hospital.

Donald didn't expect to ever open his eyes again but when he did, he felt strange. He tried to stand up, only to end up falling back down. His sense of balance was odd. He stared down at what were supposed to be his hands and were shocked to see puppy paws. He thought he was imagining things but when he tried to move his hand, one of the paws moved instead.

'I'm a dog,' Donald realized. 'Judging from the size of the paws, I'm a puppy,'

His ears twitched. He could hear the sounds of other puppies nearby. Donald tried standing again, and this time he attempted to balance himself on four legs instead of attempting to stand on his hind legs like a human. His legs were a bit shaky, but he managed to stand.

His stomach rumbled with hunger. He saw puppies drinking milk from a mother dog. As much as the thought of drinking milk like this disgusted Donald, he knew he would not be able to win against the hunger. Even back when he was a human child, he could endure the freezing night cold and the lack of sleep but he could never win against the hunger.

Donald walked over to the pups and their mother and shoved his way to find a teat. He began to drink and imagined that he was just drinking from a baby bottle. He tried to reason in his mind that since humans drank cow milk, this shouldn't be any different. He was hungry and just trying to survive.

Once he drank his fill, he stood back up and walked away from the mother dog and his apparent littermates. He settled down in the farthest corner. His stomach was now full so he could gather his thoughts about his current situation.

'I died after getting hit by that truck,' Donald recalled. 'And now I'm a puppy. The mother dog looks like a German shepherd. Judging by how I'm hearing numerous other dogs, I'm guessing this place is a breeding place. The only explanation I have as to how I ended up like this is through reincarnation,'

He turned his head to look at the rest of his body. 'Compared to my...littermates...I have a pure white fur coat. I don't know if standing out more than them is a good thing. I don't know if this is an ethical breeder of a backyard breeder that only cares for profit,'

He laid his head down on his paws. 'As frustrating as it is, there's nothing I can do at the moment. My current body relies on milk for sustenance. Most pups are fully weaned off of milk by eight weeks. I don't even know how old I am. Even if I wanted to escape, I can't reach the kennel's lock right now,' He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The days were repetitive. He'd mainly just sleep or pace around his corner when he wasn't drinking milk. He growled at his littermates when they tried to approach his corner. It wasn't that he hated them, it was just that he wanted to keep his corner clean and at their current age, the puppies weren't housetrained. He didn't have any belongings but declaring the corner as his territory gave him at least a little bit of control in his life.

When all the puppies were able to stand and walk around without much difficulties, the litter was finally allowed outside. Donald enjoyed the newfound freedom and stretched his legs. He ran around for a bit. Although he was now a dog, Donald still wanted to stay fit.

As they were weaned off milk, they switched to kibble. Donald found the kibble to be too dry and wished that they mixed it in with the water at least. He still preferred the kibble more than the dog's milk so he weaned off the fastest. Some of the other puppies started to try to be the dominant ones, but Donald quickly put them into place and became the top pup. He was not going to let himself be bullied by puppies.

Donald noticed that their breeder/caretaker started bringing in people to the kennels to pick out a puppy. 'If all the litters here are about the same age, then I must be around eight weeks old,'

"Is there a specific personality you're looking for in a dog?" The breeder asked.

Donald couldn't see who the breeder was talking to from the angle they were currently at. It was a single adult based on the sound of the footsteps.

"I'm looking for one that could be trained to follow orders well," The voice sounded really familiar, although maybe a bit deeper than what he could remember. "I'm a police officer so I'm looking to train a police dog,"

When they finally came into view, Donald immediately recognized the man as none other than Jake Ji. Jake was older, Donald guessed he was around his twenties now since he didn't look too old. He had more muscles compared to his high school self, probably from being more active in working out instead of just fighting.

Donald stood up and barked at Jake. He wagged his tail to show that he was happy and playful towards him, not aggressive. As much as he hated being owned by someone, he at least knew he'd have a loving owner if it was Jake. Being a police dog also sounded far more stimulating and interesting than just being a normal house pet.

Jake took notice of Donald and walked over to his kennel. He knelt down and patted Donald through the fencing. "What's this guy's name?"

"That's Baekjin," The breeder informed. "He's the only dog we had this season with a pure white coat so we named him 'white jewel',"

"Hey Baekjin, do you want to come with me?"

Jake's twenty three years old. After graduating high school, he immediately did his military service and then joined the police academy. After being assigned to a police station, he was a normal officer for a bit until he got permission to start training a police dog.
