Jake finished dinner and called everyone to eat. Jake, Kenny, and Kingsley sat at the table and Jake had set a bowl of kibble down on the floor nearby for Baekjin. Donald stared at the bowl and looked offended as the humans began to eat. Kenny chuckled when Donald pushed a chair and jumped on top while placing his bowl down on top of the table.

"Your dog's weird," Kingsley deadpanned as Donald began to eat.

"I didn't mean to make you feel left out, Baekjin," Jake patted Donald's head. "But, uh, you probably shouldn't do this at the station when we start training,"

'Fine,' Donald agreed. 'I'll try to act like a normal police dog during training,'

Once dinner was over, Jake showed Donald to a crate in the living room corner with a dog bed inside. "I heard crates are good because it'll be like your own personal space you'll associate with safety and calmness. It's like a mini bedroom,"

'I, frankly, do not give a fuck,' Donald rolled his eyes as he laid down on the soft dog bed.

"There's a bowl of water nearby in case you get thirsty at night," Jake told him. "I'll change it in the morning and right before bed so it's always fresh," He patted Donald's head. "I know it's you're in a completely new space so you might be scared, but everything will be fine,"

'I can assure you that I am not scared at all,' Donald curled up to sleep.

"I'll see you in the morning," Jake said as he headed upstairs to his own room.

The next morning, Jake exited his bedroom and heard the toilet flush from the nearby bathroom. He was surprised to see Donald exiting from the bathroom a few seconds later. "Uh...I guess that means you're already house trained?" 'At least I can save on buying doggie poop bags. I'll still need to buy some in case he does need to go while we're out,'

'Although I technically am an animal, I refuse to do my business outdoors like one,' Donald huffed. 'I only did my business outdoors at that place where you got me from because I had no other options. Since there's a bathroom here, I'll utilize it instead,'

"I planned on taking you out for a walk to work up an appetite for breakfast," Jake told him. "What do you say, boy? Wanna go for a walk?"

'I do need to get more fit since you're planning to have me join the police force,' Donald nodded.

Jake grabbed a harness and leash. At first, Donald was annoyed but he understood that there were leash laws. At least the harness Jake chose was comfortable. Besides, he would need to get used to wearing harnesses since he'd be wearing a police vest when on duty.

Donald enjoyed the run. He loved feeling the wind blowing through his fur. He loved the adrenaline coursing through his veins. He felt so free. He accidentally ran too fast and pulled his leash out of Jake's hand. It was only after he stopped to catch his breath that he realized that he had left Jake behind. He picked up his leash with his mouth and trotted back over to Jake, handing the leash back to him.

"You have a lot more energy than I expected," Jake chuckled. "Come on, let's head back. I'm sure you must be hungry now,"

They walked back at their own pace. When they reached Jake's house, Donald noticed that there was another car and a motorcycle in the driveway. When they entered the house, Donald saw Dean Kwon, Timothy Park, Eunchan Hong, and Wolf Keum.

'I can understand Jake's friends being here,' Donald stared at Wolf. 'But why is Wolf here?'

"Baekjin, these are my friends," Jake introduced the pup to the other humans. "These three are Dean, Timmy, and Eunchan. The purple haired one is my boyfriend, Wolf Keum. You'll probably see them dropping by often so I'm introducing you to them so you don't mistake them for an intruder,"

'How the fuck did you end up dating Wolf!?' Donald silently exclaimed. 'Just what did I miss during the six years I was dead!?' Donald's stomach rumbled and he walked over to the kitchen. He opened the container that held kibble and used the scoop inside to pour some into his empty food bowl. He brought his bowl over to the table and began eating.

"Your dog's even weirder now," Kingsley, who was eating a bowl of cereal, commented.

"He's a very smart pup," Jake laughed. "I bet he'll pass police dog training with flying colors,"

"Didn't you say you just got him yesterday?" Wolf questioned.

"Yeah," Jake nodded. "He even knows how to use the toilet, like the actual toilet. And he even flushes too,"

'I know you think I'm a dog but I feel very offended that you're talking about me like that,' Donald rolled his eyes.

"It's like he's a human trapped in a dog's body," Timmy commented.

"What if he is?" Eunchan joked. "I mean, there's lots of anime where people are reincarnated as other species like a slime or a vending machine. There's so much we don't know about our own world so who's to say that isekai-ing is impossible?"

Donald barked once. 'He's right. It's me, Donald,'

"I think this is the first time he barked since I brought him home," Jake blinked in surprise.

"Maybe he really is a human reincarnated as a dog!" Eunchan said.

Donald barked once again. 'Yes, I am,'

"He's just a weird dog," Dean dismissed. "If he was a human, then there's no way he's the first. Wouldn't there be more instances and records of other humans reincarnating as animals?"

Kenny, who had been silently watching them as he ate some waffles, couldn't help but chuckle. 'They're so close to discovering the truth, yet it's the disbelief that's preventing them from fully figuring it out,'

I was gonna have them realize that Baekjin is actually a human in this chapter, but I'm gonna drag it out a bit more.
