Kady was used to waking up and immediately wishing she was dead; she was not a morning person. This... this was different, very different. Kady didn't even have her eyes open and she could already feel her head pounding.
"Why did- oof, no never mind." Kady groaned, having barely enough strength to press her hand against her head. Let's not try talking again. Kady opened one eye just enough to look around her room, noticing a glass of water and some painkillers by her bed. She hurried as much as she could to take them, slowly dropping herself back into her pillow and closing her eyes once more, waiting for the painkillers to take effect.
Kady woke up with a start, squinting to look around the room. Must've fallen back asleep. She sighed softly, blinking a couple of times as she got used to having her eyes open again. At least the headache was more bearable. Kady took a deep breath as she moved around in an attempt to get more comfortable, but something stopped her.
"Am I still...?" Kady lifted the duvet covering her and frowned at her clothing. Then it all came back. Kady groaned and closed her eyes, reliving the travel home and into bed from the night before.
Despite the discomfort of her clothes in bed, Kady found her lips curling as she thought about Lucas; after all, he could easily have helped her change and claimed it was a necessity, but instead, he left her in her clothes and left as soon as he knew she would be okay.
Kady sat up slowly, still aware of the light pounding in her head, and made her way to her drawers; finding a pair of pyjamas was easy, she grabbed the first ones she could find. Kady carefully stepped out of her clothes and dumped them in her laundry hamper before slipping on her clean pyjamas. She took a deep breath, feeling much better already with the change of clothes and the painkillers working in her body. Not well enough to leave the room, or even her bed, but better still. Kady walked with slow steps back to her bed, sighing contently as soon as her heavy body was lying back on its surface.
"To think some people don't like sleeping." Kady closed her eyes, eager to let sleep consume her once more but the now constant buzzing of her phone was quite preventing of it. With a whine, Kady leaned over to her bedside table and took hold of her mobile, bringing it close to her face as she scanned the notifications. "Oh, it's all from the soulmates group chat." Kady made a sound that sounded like something between a scoff and a laugh before opening her phone, opting to look at the direct messages first. Let's see... Five from Lucas, four from Symphony, and two from James. All checking to make sure I'm alive. Kady laughed and replied to all three, something that took a considerable amount of time but considering she was half-dead a few minutes ago... it was understandable. And now... soulmates. The rolling of her eyes had become a natural response to that word. Kady quickly scanned the bombardment of messages, struggling to make sense of most of them but despite that one thing quickly became clear... all three members were on their way over after having had no reply from her. Great.
Kady barely managed to get her teeth brushed before she heard a knock at the front door. Her parents having left early that morning meant she had to be the one to answer, meaning going down the hallway and down the stairs and to the front door. Kady dreaded the journey but slowly made her way, pretending she wasn't considering just giving up and lying on the floor.
Shielding her eyes, Kady finally opened the front door, barely managing to frown at the three concerned faces staring at her.
"You're alive!" James sounded weirdly shocked, and Kady's frown deepened.
"I replied to your texts." Kady stepped aside, allowing the group into the house. Symphony hugged her as soon as she was in and gently stroked her back.
