~London life~

It is early morning in a train station. It is usually very loud full of the hustle and bustle of London life. But it is quiet. The sky is gray in the usual London overcast. a man in the ticket booth walks in very tired getting ready to set up for the extremely busy day that awaits.  We cut to a train car with a family: a father(Benjamin Waldo) a mother (Elvira Waldo )one 17-year-old girl(Catherine Waldo )a 16-year-old boy (Paul Waldo) another girl who is 14 years old (kitty Waldo ) one 10 year old boy( Philip Waldo )and the last little brother, who can be no more than 4 years old(Charlie Waldo)The family sits huddled together with their suitcases and other luggage. They have been on a train for hours. The two eldest children are asleep as well as both parents, but the younger children are wide awake.

They are excited to see what futures London could hold for them. Kitty sits, looking out the window longingly she misses her dear friend, her old life. She wears a long black dress with sleeves. Her hair is pinned up per usual she had only turned 14 about two months ago but if anyone were to look at her, they would mistake her as an adult.

" Philip would you quit that?" Demands kitty. Philip had been aggressively poking little Charlie for the past few minutes. All poor Charlie wanted to do was sleep.
"Why should I?" Philip snapped to his sister.
" Because  we do not want to wake up mother and father! Now both of you we only have a few more minutes to go. Will you behave?" She pleaded with her brother.
Philip nodded in agreement. The rest of their train ride was quiet.

The train came to a halting stop as it rolled into the once quiet station. the family quickly woke up, collected their things and exited the train without saying one word. Carefully kitty grabbed her luggage and her brother Charlie and exited the train car. Her legs were a little wobbly from sitting for so long, but she was happy to be in fresh air once again.

Benjamin Waldo rounded up their family at the train station after they had exited the machine and walked them over to a stand that was selling refreshments
" Get the children something to eat. I'll call us a cab."  Benjamin spoke kindly as he walked away from the family. Elvira smiled, and got the children into line. Paul and Catherine had followed their father to the street.
"When is it gonna be our turn?" Little Charlie stomped they had only been waiting a few moments, and the train station was practically a ghost town still.
" Only a moment longer dear." Elviras, sweet Honey like voice filled with the air. Kitties eyes began to wander about the train station as they waited in the queue. She noticed there was a lot of men in fine suits and the women were dressed in their Sunday best.
" Something the matter, dearest?" Elvira's, honey voice, prick kitties ears.
"Oh nothing, it's just so very cold." She lied.
Elvira didn't dare to press her daughter further . The family had finally made it to the front of the refreshment line. Elvira ordered warm muffins And tea for the family.

Benjamin moment later, with his two other children, and the family quickly finished up their food.  All of the noises or lack there of in London confused kitty. She had read  before, in magazines and books that London was a hustle and bustle city, but from the looks of it now it was the farthest thing from that. Granted it was 4:30 in the morning.

" 1900 Cherry Road please." Benjamin said to the cab driver, handing him an envelope of cash.  The drive was quick and painless. Unlike many of the other things, the Waldo family would have to experience.

Paul Charlie and Benjamin grab all the luggage they could and walked up to their new apartment. See Mr. Waldo quit his former job in Amsterdam and managed to find work very well known London bank. He had come down several months earlier to set things up and find decent living arrangements for his family. It was a quite large flat with two bathrooms and four bedrooms. There was a loft space that could also double as a bedroom. In terms of decor, it wasn't nothing outstanding, but it would be decent.
As the family loaded in the sun finally warmed the London skies. There was some joy in the families faces. This home was certainly bigger than what they had had back in Amsterdam. The younger boys  ran around, exploring each nook and cranny that they could
Catherine stepped out onto the balcony that overlooked a small park. The others in the home walked around and soaked everything in. Kitty took her things and walked up the stairs to the loft.

It is late in the day now. Elvira and Catherine are in the kitchen, putting away the dishes from supper. The boys are playing in the main family room. Benjamin is in his office studying some papers. Kitty is sitting at her desk in the loft. She picks up her pen and begins to write the first words on the page are : to my dearest, Anne who I miss the most.....
