"—And then I woke up. I was on the bed. He was laid in the hammock." I said to Samantha. I smiled at how much of a gentleman he was— how he was not intimidating me into a relationship. He was giving me time. He didn't lie on the bed with me like I thought he would have done. Even if he did, I wouldn't have minded.
"What?" Samantha screeched. "No sex?" She screeched again and everyone near our table turned to look at us. My eyes widened as I tried to calm Samantha down. "I was only waiting for the sex part." Samantha sighed, looking sad and I chuckled.
"Sex?" I asked. "Are you being serious right now?"
"Yes. I am." Samantha said, rolling her eyes as she sipped her coffee. "You know... when a guy sticks his location in a girl's destination?" She winked and stood up from the table. I laughed, standing up together with her as I placed my empty cup on the table.
"If I had a guy like Oliver, chasing after me like that, then I would have made him my love muffin and probably made a baby or two." Samantha paused and I opened my mouth to protest. "Don't even think about denying. I'm sure hundreds of girls would agree with me right now." She pointed her finger accusingly at me and I shook my head, rolling my eyes.
"For your information." I paused. "You already have a guy chasing after you like that."
Samantha's body visibly tensed and I narrowed my eyes at her. "Don't talk about that needle dick. He cheated on me." Her eyebrows furrowed in annoyance but I could see the hurt in her eyes.
I knew it was wrong of me to ask her about her relationship with him or even support Ashton. It was none of my business but something about Ashton tells me that he did not cheat and it was just a total misunderstanding. The way he seemed so heartbroken and lost whenever Samantha rejected him was always a clue. I had a feeling that Samantha never stopped and listen to his side of the story. She was always strong-headed.
Also, by knowing Oliver, I knew that he would not involve himself or be friends with people who cheat on their partners. I strongly believed that it was a total misunderstanding.
"Don't you think that guy deserves a second chance?" I halted. "Don't get me wrong, I hate cheaters and they never should be given respect," I sighed, "But, I feel like there's more to it than this? If he did cheat on you, then why would he still chase after you?" I asked.
"Exactly!" Samantha said. "Why is that frozen cum-guzzling dicktard chasing after me? I do want to believe that there's more to it or that he didn't cheat. But, I saw it with my own eyes." Samantha's voice wavered. "Why does he still chase me?"
"Because, he still loves you," I answered and Samantha breathed hard, her anger going away in an instant as she pinched the bridge of her nose. I have learned that she does that whenever she is thinking hard or stressed out.
"Sometimes, there's always another story. There's more than meets the eye," I said softly and she sighed, shaking her head. Her eyes looked sad and hurt with pain. Samantha was such a bubbly person that seeing her this way made my heart swell with pain. I felt honoured that she wanted to talk about it with me and not stop me like I thought she would. "Do you still think of him?" I asked.
"Every second." She said softly and my heartstrings tugged at the pain in her eyes.
"I can't even look at him," Samantha said, breathing out a loud sigh. "I hate..." She clenched her jaw. "I loathe him so much."
"You can't keep lying to yourself," I whispered. I could see it in her eyes that she still had feelings for him. Samantha was a very stubborn person so she needed someone to tell her that she indeed has feelings for him. "You don't."
"You are right," Samantha said softly. I patted her back, wanting to change the mood desperately. I hated seeing her vulnerable.
"Where are we going now?" I asked and Samanthas's eyes brightened up at my curious question. She pointed at a store as we walked around the mall.
"There," Samantha said. "We are going to buy costumes."
"For what?"
"Halloween party." Samantha rolled her eyes again and I realised that I have forgotten about Halloween. Well, it's not my fault. I have never celebrated it before. I have never been to a Halloween party. I have never worn a costume.
"It's my first time." I smiled excitedly and Samantha looked at me raising her eyebrows as she tossed the finished milkshake into the dustbin.
"First time for what? Getting pregnant?" Samantha asked and I shook my head at her, chuckling slightly.
"Celebrating Halloween."
She stopped in her tracks and looked at me with pure shock before calming down, her eyes shining with determination. She held my shoulders and leaned forward. "We are rocking this year's Halloween. You got me?" She asked and I smiled back at her, feeling satisfied and happy. A small hole in my heart labelled 'friendless' was filling up and I couldn't help but thank the gods for making me meet Samantha.
"Now come on!" Samantha looped her arm into mine. Her short black and green hair danced as she dragged me towards the store.
We entered the store and looked around for costumes. They were separated into different sections. Paranormal section, Scary Bride section, Supernatural Creature section, Harry Potter section and many more. I looked towards the Harry Potter section. There was a dementor costume hanging on it. It looked deadly scary.
"Oh my god!" Samantha squealed beside me. "Look at this banana costume! I'm buying it." She jumped up and down, clutching onto the banana costume like a madwoman and I laughed at her selection.
Only Samantha would wear a banana costume. Just when I turned back to the Harry Potter section, my eyes laid on a costume and my eyes widened in wonder. It was perfect and I didn't know why but I felt compelled to buy that costume. It was just too perfect.
After a few minutes of squealing and buying the costumes, both of us were out of the store in no time.
"Well, that was fast," Samantha said and I nodded.
"Too fast in fact." I agreed with her.
Samantha shrugged before looping her arms in mine as her eyes shone with mischief. "Now, we have time for a makeover." She said and dragged me towards the spa across the huge building.
"Look who it is girls." A voice squealed behind us and both of us looked at each other as we recognised that voice.
Vanessa.
"It's dumb and dumber," Vanessa said, crossing her arms across her chest as she walked ahead and stopped in front of us. Her group of friends followed her around. She seemed like a high-school queen bee to me.
"Congratulations on proving yet again just how much better we are than you with that last failed attempt at insulting us. It must suck being so bitter." Samantha said, mocking sympathy and Vanessa looked pissed off.
"Shut up and get lost." She sneered angrily, placing her hands on her hips. Her straight brunette hair covered her face but she brushed them away.
"I'm sorry dear. For you to insult us, we must first value your opinion. Nice try though." With that, I dragged an amused Samantha out of the place and walked ahead of the stunned group.
