Angelina

I stood plastered to my spot still trying to come up with something to tell him.

An icy sensation shocked me like an earthquake, freezing my feet to the floor.

Without another second wasting, Nicolas started to walk to towards where I was standing. I almost ran. But I didn't.

He grabbed my hand that was I was still hiding under my shirt and examined it.

I let out a yelp since he grabbed it aggressively.

"I fell." I finally managed to say.

If I can lie my way through this situation., then I'll rank myself the best liar in the world.

"Maksim!" He shouted.

Who's Maksim?

The front door opened once more and the same guy who accompanied me in the garden walked inside.

"Da, nachal'nik?"

Nicolas finally let go of my hand, and I let out a shaky breath.

"What the. Fuck. did I tell you!" He shouted again.

Maksim looked at me, then looked at the blood trails on the floor, and went serious.

He and Nicolas exchanged words, Maksim calm as ever and Nicolas shouting his brains out.

Should I go.

Yeah I should go.

I only made it a few steps before Nicolas called out to me, "Angelina get back here now!"

I paused, then turned back around to face him.

He stared at me angrily before turning back to Maksim and saying, "kill those fucking dogs."

No wait. He can't do that can he?

The world around me started to spin, I know I barely knew the dogs, but he can't just kill them. They're actually super sweet.

"You can't!" I finally said, right before Maksim can reach the door, "I told you I just fell!" My heart beat so fast it skipped most of the air going to my lungs.

"You think I'm supposed to believe that you fell, and bite marks are on your wrist."

"Nicolas, please." I said my voice softened, "let me explain."

He walked up to me again and stared down at me intensely.

Maksim was still standing by the door, waiting.

"Nachal'nik?" Maksim asked again.

I stared back at Nicolas, not breaking eye contact, I was afraid if I did, it was over.

He let out a low cuss before exchanging words with Maksim again, and turning back to me.

"You need to see a doctor." He said coldly as he pulled me towards a room nearby.

A doctor? He's overreacting I don't need to see a doctor. The cut wasn't even that bad. The only reason it was bleeding was because Kratos canine teeth puncture under my skin, and the rest just left a dark purple bite mark.

And the wound had already stopped bleeding by now anyway.

"I don't need a doctor, it's not even that bad, all I need is a plaster." I reassured him.

As we stepped into the room I noticed that this was his office and it was beautiful.

The walls are lined with rich mahogany bookshelves, showcasing an impressive collection of leather-bound books.

The desk is a masterpiece, made of polished, dark wood, with intricate carvings and a plush leather chair. The room is complete with elegant furniture, including chairs in front the desk for meetings, a couch at the corner, and a beautiful painting of a man and woman.

Nicolas let go of my hand and shoved me against the wall as soon as he closed the door behind us.

"As I told you before Angelina, 'whatever I say goes' and I already broke that rule for you. So I'm not asking you if you need a doctor, I'm telling you." He said coldly, "now sit."

~~~
I sat on the office couch waiting. Nicolas had left the room to go fetch the doctor.
It wasn't long before the door opened again and Vera stepped in.
"Vera?" I asked confused, "you're a doctor?"
Nicolas walked in after her.
"Well when you're a college student and don't know what you want to be, you can be anything." She said walking towards me, "Now let's see that bite."
After a while, she finally finished. All she did was clean the cut and stitched up the bleeding parts before adding gauze.
She also advised that I stay off the hand for a while otherwise it might make the swelling worse. Though it might only take two days max, it feels like forever. I mean I still have my other hand, but it's not the same.
Vera eventually packed up all the stuff she bought and left, leaving Nicolas and I behind.
"I guess you were right." I said, getting up from the couch.
I had already explained to Nicolas how I got the mark and that Maksim had NOTHING to do with it. He didn't say anything because Vera was in the room, and I was very grateful for that.
He looked up from his phone.
"I'm always right."
He has to have a really big ego to think that. But it's actually fun to prove people wrong.
"Well, if you think that it's true, then maybe it is, but I can't promise you'll ALWAYS be right." I said putting some weight on the 'always'.
He pushed off the table, "I don't 'think' I'm always right. I 'know' I'm always right."
He walked closer to me, I didn't move.
I looked up at him with a small smile on my face, "okay 'Mr. Know It All' I'll believe you."
He looked back down at me before saying, "Get out my office Angelina."
