Tears were rolling down my face, and I couldn't bare to see what has happened. That's when I started feeling the pain in my shoulder. I opened my eyes, just to look to see, finding a huge gash through the top of it. Behind me was a muffled voice. However, the pain was getting to me. There was no way I could handle the shock, my eyelids began to close.

I wake up to the sound of a faint, steady, beep. Am I in a hospital, I thought. I tried to sit up, but my shoulder brought pain.

"You're up," Michael, I could tell by his rough voice. It sounded worse than normal though. My eyes opened to blinding light, and I could see Michael standing there. As my vision cleared I saw the redness in his eyes.

"Were you, crying?" I asked, my voice yet a whisper. He's my best friend, nothing more, at least I thought, unless he actually likes me. My head was spinning.

"It's not everyday that your best friend gets shot in the shoulder and you have to take her to the hospital." he slightly chuckled, a couple more tears falling down. "So, I have to ask about Luke. How do you two know each other," his voice was soft.

"I was going to ask you the same thing. You should at least sit down though." He made his way over to the side of the bed, slowly settling down.

"Well, Luke and I are in a band together. We're like best mates I guess," he scratched at his head. I looked at him in complete disbelief.

"You're in a band together?" My voice was begin to feel normal now. I no longer spoke in a whisper.

"Yeah, haven't I told you about it before? We call ourselves 5 Seconds of Summer."

"I thought that was some joke of a so called band. I didn't think you actually had something going."

"Alright, alright. Calm down though. Don't get too worked up. Now tell me how you know Luke," Michael gave me a sort of glare, with his cheeky grin, trying to get something out of me.

"Well... I mean really... Yeah... we just kinda...." the words I couldn't put together in the right way. Should I say we met by accident, or he gave me a ride. That might cause Michael to be way over protective saying I shouldn't get rides from random people I run in to. How do I say this?

"Well what?" He pressed on.

"I kind of bumped into him on my way to class and then he offered a ride because I said I had to catch the bus so I wasn't late so I decided to just go because he didn't look like a bad guy he seemed really sweet and then he kind of flirted with me and please don't be mad Michael or get upset." The words finally came pouring out of my mouth. I looked at him hoping to be reassured it was alright.

"Oh." Really? Just oh? Michael, ugh. Then a nurse came in. she asked the usual stuff, how are you, how's the pain, and so on. Except I kept glancing at Michael, to try and read his facial expression after what I had said. He almost looked, hurt.

"I'll leave you two be now," the nurse said, before walking out. I became a little uncomfortable, Michael and I are not a thing. We sat there for a few minutes in silence. The constant sound of a beep kept sound in the room, but the silence between us was weird. We are such close friends, always talking, yet here we are not saying a word to each other. Then, he got up.

"I should go check on Luke." He just walked out. Just like that, he was gone. With only a few words said.
