I woke up to the familiar sound of my alarm. Time for school, another 2 hours of my day to be spent being bored. Grumbling I rolled over and hit snooze. Following in society's footsteps, I grab my phone off the nightstand and check for any texts or notifications.
"Nothing new," I sigh and slowly start to sit up. I can't be late for class again, I need to get a move on. Throwing on a grey sweater, black legging, and some keds, I was almost out the door. A reminder came up to me that I had to eat and feed my cat. My fat munchkin cat plopped on my foot and started to cry for food. "Give me a minute. You also gotta get off my foot Pumpkin," I lifted my cat and walked to the kitchen for her bowl. I filled it up with some ordinary cat food and headed to the fridge for a quick breakfast. To my shock and Pumpkin's, my alarm started to blast once again. "Frick," I mutter. I grab an apple and run to shut off my alarm. "Dang it, I'm running late again!" I rush out the door, grabbing my bag. In a panicked hurry, I ran down the street, trying to catch the bus.
"Woah, woah, woah, slow down. You might hurt someone," a guy chuckled to himself as I accidentally run into him. My bags contents luckily was all still inside so I awkwardly stood there.
"I'm so sorry. I-I have to get to school. The bus I take is gonna leave any minute. Once again I'm so so sorry," I tried to step around him but he lightly grabbed my wrist.
"No, hey, I can give you a ride. It'll be quicker than taking the bus, there won't be any stops and my car is right across the street," he looked at me and pointed to a small black car.
"I um I'm not so sure about this," I barely speak out. Who says he's not trying to hurt me. With what society puts out, there's a chance he wants to take me home and rape me. I look at him, he has such a baby face. He's not exactly dressed like he's here to hurt me either. "Alright, I'll go," what's a guy wearing a band tee and ripped black skinny jeans gonna do to me, honestly.
"Great," he smiled and led the way to his car. "My name is Luke by the way."
"Rosalie," I say, shyly looking towards mine and his feet.
"Pretty. So hey, why do you have school, it's summer?" Luke asks me as we get in his car.
"I take two, 1 hour courses during the summer. It just works out best for my schedule and I won't overdue it during the normal school year," I explain. "It's the college just down the road to the right by the way."
"Thank you for that information. Seems really cool you care about your education that much. Do you have something you aspire to be?" More questions about me. Why?
"Yeah, actually, a special effects technician," I smile at the thought.
"No idea what that is, but it sounds really cool!" he had a huge grin on his face.
"Thanks, it's the person that makes the special effects in movies and videos" I couldn't help but giggle at his reaction. We pulled up to the college and I was about to get out when Luke stopped me.
"I'm always heading out at this time if you want a ride. Maybe next time I can get your number too?" He questions. I start to open the car door. Before I close it I lean in.
"Sure thing. Tomorrow, about the same time, surely I'll need a ride," I smile and thank him before I go on my way to class.
