Draco waited outside the greenhouse, his sleek blonde hair swept neatly back, his schoolbag hung over one shoulder. He was in a particularly bad mood, for he had just landed himself his third detention that week.

The sound of scurrying footsteps echoed through the vast corridors as he waited, a mass of students en-route to their dormitories for the evening.

He sighed, running thin fingers through his hair and rocked on his heels impatiently; thinking of the warm fires, and his large four poster bed.

Someone was supposed to be meeting him to let him into greenhouse five, where he would be spending his dention that evening. Draco had no interest in plants whatsoever. He was expecting it to be rather dull.

I suppose that's the whole point of detention I guess. He thought to himself, as he stroked his silver skull-shaped ring absent-mindedly.
If only he hadn't thrown that dungbomb at Colin Creevey.

Ah well. It had all been worth it, just to see Colin's disgusted and horrified expression as Draco had lapped up loud applause from the Slytherin's.

Pansy Parkinson his ex girlfriend had seemed really impressed, perhaps he'd make it up with her and the two of them would hit it off again.
He stopped himself at the thought, thinking.

Nah me and her are history, he said to himself. I need someone who understands me, someone different, someone more clever, someone..

'Granger!'

Hermione Granger had just appeared behind the door of greenhouse five, looking rather dishevelled. Her robes were covered from head to foot in mud and there were smears of soil on her face and in her hair. Despite this, she still looked rather pretty, her hair up in a messy bun, fringe locks falling to frame her face. She wore a small pink flower in her hair for added colour.

She looked surprised to see Malfoy.

'What are you doing here?' She said, scowling.

'Wait a sec' they both said in unison.

They stared in irritation and mild amusement at each other. Hermione folded her arms.

'Go on then, you first,' she said, her chestnut eyes flashing at Draco.

'I've been sent here for my detention. Don't tell me you're the student I'm helping.'

'Well, it turns out I am.' She said brusquely.

A beat of silence followed.

Draco looked like he was struggling to hold back a retort. Before Hermione spoke again.

'Well don't just stand there Draco. You better come in. We haven't got all night.'

Fed up and tired, he grudgingly entered greenhouse five, looking a truly frustrated figure.

The first thing that hit Draco was the sheer size and scale of the space he'd just walked into. He stood in awe, eyes full of wonder gazing at his surroundings. For the entirety of the space had changed.

The ceiling must have been thirteen foot tall, made of stone, with great sloping sides. Gigantic pools of light streamed through stain glass windows illuminating the space which was occupied by plants and flowers of splendid variety; some magical some muggle-made, the latter with some obvious magical modifications.

One such example were the towering sunflowers, their great citrusy zest pervading the space from every wall, corner and side. The result no doubt, of an engorgement charm.
