New Year's

Olivia's POV
Today is Ruby's first New Year's. We decided to spend it with Patty, Emma and Christian (Novelli). Luke decided to get up with Ruby this morning and let me sleep in a little. I woke up at around 12, it was super nice to sleep in. I went down stairs and saw Luke feeding Ruby while they watched tv. Ruby was a splitting image of Luke. Same ginger hair, bright blue eyes full of joy and happiness. "Good morning you two." I said. "Goodnight morning love." Luke said. He finished feeding Ruby and then gave her to me. "Go see Mama." Luke said. "Hi baby girl." I said and bounced her a little. She giggled. "Let's go get you dressed." I said. "Nooooooo! I made you breakfast. You go eat, I'll dress my little princess." Luke said and rushed in the living room. I laughed, "okay, okay, I'll go eat." I said and handed Ruby to Luke. I went and ate what Luke made me, it was just a bowl of cereal, simple but it was pretty good. I put my bowl in the dish washer and went upstairs. "You good?" I asked Luke as I stepped into Ruby's room. "Yup, she's all ready." Luke said. Ruby was in her Little Mermaid jumper and her black leggings. "Aw that is the cutest jumper ever." I said and kissed Ruby's forehead and Luke's cheek. "Now you go get dressed." Luke said and kissed my cheek. I went to our bedroom and decided on my thick, grey sweater and black leggings. I went into the bathroom and did my make up and curled my hair. I went down stairs and sat with Luke on the couch. "I just put her down for a nap, she was getting fussy." Luke said. "Okie, let's watch a movie, we haven't time to in a while." I said and snuggled up to him. "Sounds good. Let's watch Captain America." Luke said. "Yes yes yes." I said. Luke put it on and then pulled me nice and close to him.

It was about 8, Ruby took an extra long nap today. I changed her and fed her and then we put on her coat and hat and UGGs and went over to Patty's. Luke brought Ruby's diaper bag and play pen I case she got sleepy. I don't think she is going to be able to stay up till 12. I knocked on the door and Patty opened it. "Hey guys, come in come in." Patty said. "Christian is already here and Emma should be here shortly." Patty said. "Okay, I don't think I've met Christian yet." I said. Ruby looked a Patty and smiled. "Gimme gimme!" Patty said. I laughed an handed her to Patty. We went into the living room and Christian was there sitting on the couch on his laptop. "So, Christian, you already know Luke, but I don't think you've met his wife, Olivia and this is their daughter Ruby." Patty said. "Hey guys." Christian said. Luke went over and sat down with Christian.

11 pm
Surprisingly Ruby was still awake, I think it was from all the attention she was getting, but she has been getting a little fussy. "C-can I hold her?" Christian asked. "Yeah for sure." I said and handed her to him. She looked at him and grabbed his hair. "Ouch." He said. "Ruby, that's not nice." I said to her and she just stared. I sat down on Emma. "Get off fat ass." She said. "But I wuv you." I said. "Um, cheating much!" Luke said. "Pft, you have Patty." I said. "Luke grabbed Patty and stood up with him and picks him up bridal style. "You caught us, we're going to run away and get married together." Luke said. "I object!" Patty yelled. Emma, Christian and I started laughing. "Fine then, I don't need you." Luke said and dropped Patty on the couch. We all laughed again. "Ruby okay?" I asked Christian. "Yeah, she's sleeping." He said. Ruby was laying on his chest sleeping, completely peaceful. I pulled out my phone and took a picture. "That's a keeper." I said and put it away.

11:59 pm
Ruby is asleep and it's almost 12. We were all counting down. "10...9...8...7...6...5...4..3...2...1! Happy New Year!" We all shouted and I kissed Luke. It's been a great year, so many wonderful things have happened. I married to a great guy, I have a beautiful daughter, amazing friends, my life is pretty great. We grabbed all of Ruby's stuff, said our goodbyes and went home. I changed Ruby's diaper and put her in some pyjamas and then into bed. I went into my bedroom and changed into some pyjamas. I crawled into bed with Luke and cuddle up to him. "I love you Luke." I said and kissed his cheek. "I love you too Olivia." He replied and kissed my forehead. "Let's get some sleep, we need it." Luke said and I nodded and he wrapped his arm around me. "Goodnight." I said. "Goodnight." He replied. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
