Chapter 1: Emerald Seas Private Academy

The plane just touched down on the private runway of ESPA and Ricky jolted awake looking around wildly. It's hard to believe he's almost two years younger then me, but he's already started grade nine. Mom always said Ricky favoured our dad with his blue almost black hair and bright blue eyes. That's the only thing she ever told us about our dad though, and I always wondered why he wasn't in our life because I know he's alive. Mom is always acting like she's on the run from someone, and I think that's why she left dad.

"Welcome to ESPA please exit the plane in an orderly fashion each of you will have someone waiting for you with your names on the board. Enjoy your life here," a voice over the speakers said.

Ricky seemed nervous when we stepped off the plane and found boards beside each other with our names. Mine had a man with rainbow color eyes and pure silver hair he looked to be in his late twenties beside him with Ricky's name was a woman with rainbow hair and her eyes were a mixture of silver, red, and black around mom's age. For some reason they both seemed really familiar to me and I seemed to associate the man with the name Lulu.

"Hi Rina I'm Luca Evert and this is my older half sister Rivia Solar-Lightning she'll be Ricardo's adviser well I'll be yours," the man told me holding his hand out for me.

I took it and smiled up at him, "it's nice to meet you Mr. Evert, Ms. Solar-Lightning."

"Actually it's Mrs. Jeliana now little bro doesn't like it that I'm married," she said.

"Have you two ever been to the Island of Caprico you both seem really familiar to me?" I asked staring at Luca who I still thought of as Lulu.

"No we've never been there," Luca said with a shrug.

"Yeah they don't seem any familiar to me either Rina maybe you've just seen their pictures in the brochures for the Academy the school does have some of the teachers there," Ricky said with a shrug only looking at me. He's always had a problem with being around people he doesn't know although he usually turned to Analise at times like this.

"Alright would you two prefer to have the tour together, or separately," Luca asked kindly although I could still feel a sense of familiarity behind him and his sister.

"I'd prefer seperately Ricky needs to learn not to solely depend on me here like he used to back home," I said with a smile and a wave to Ricky.

"But Rina," Ricky said sounding scared.

"It's fine Ricky if you absolutely need me just call me  on my cell, ok?" I asked him before walking away after giving him a big hug.

"Bye Rina," he said his voice filled with sadness.

"So is it just you two?" Luca asked as we walked around the school well he showed me were the gym is.

"No we live with our mom and two sisters, but they're back on Caprico. Ricky and I got scholarships to this school, so we decided to come here. Talia is on all the guys sports team so the school can't lose her, and Analise doesn't want to leave her friends," I said noticing as his face tensed when I said Analise.

"Is Rina a nickname?" he asked almost looking hopefull as he stared at me.

"No my nicknames Ri or R usually, Rina's my full name according to my birth certificate," I said with a shrug.

"What's your mom's name?" he asked and I had a feeling he felt the sense of familiarity with me to.

"Violet Anna Carlisle," I said without hesitation, "why so many questions about my family?"
