The sun starts to fade in the horizon, melting like butter and a beautiful display of colours were painted onto the sky like a canvas. As Masaru noticed this, he couldn't help but feel like smiling but he's not going to let his cool reputation fade away into nothing by showing a weak side so he'll just stick to grinning.
The grinning may make him look evil or like he's planning something but it's the closest anyone's going to get to a genuine soft smile. Minato notices Masaru's gaze being fixed onto the beautiful sky before admiring the view himself. Minato, Rin and y/n smile cheerfully at the pretty display meanwhile Kakashi is ignoring everything and everyone and Obito is still sulking and pouting about his head.
~2nd pov~
Minato finally breaks the peaceful silence. "I think it's time to wrap things up, it's the end of the day already." Everyone seemed shocked. "I guess time flies when you're having fun!" Minato mentions cheerfully.
"See you guys tomorrow!" Rin cheers as she waves goodbye. Everyone says their goodbyes and parts ways, making their way home. You really can't believe how it's possible that's it's really the end of the day. This doesn't feel right at all...
It is true that time can feel as if it passed faster when you're having fun...but you wouldn't really recall today as 'fun'. Screaming, insults, bickering and violence is almost the only thing you can remember from today and that isn't what you would usually call fun.
Sure, some people you met were actually kind and welcoming but Kakashi and Masaru weren't exactly what you'd call rays of sunshine. They both seemed pretty depressed and cold. Kakashi was definitely more depressed than Masaru and Masaru was definitely more confident and self-centered than everyone else in the team by a long shot. Of course he was admirable but this over-confidence of his wasn't really one of his best qualities.
As you were on your way home, you couldn't help but let yourself get lost in thought. It seemed like a bit of a walk to your house as you couldn't wait to come home, dive into your bed and escape from this exhausting day. You smiled, the beautiful colours still painted over the horizon but fading slowly. It was so pretty and you started to wonder if Bob Ross could paint it.
You stopped yourself almost immediately. Who's Bob Ross?... is he a shinobi? An Akatsuki member? (Author-chan: Oh silly me, I don't think Akatsuki was a thing back then) Is he a threat to the hidden leaf village?! You were honestly too tired to care anymore, you were almost home and felt like using your last bit of energy to sprint there, but nah.
You were smiling happily, imagining yourself diving into your bed and getting your well-needed rest before a thought rudely interrupted, quickly conquering your mind. Did I have any fun at all today?... well, Kakashi was, uh... let's say...h- hot- I mean not! He was not, really happy, heh.
you sweat drop and blush awkwardly at your thoughts. Minato and Rin were definitely welcoming and nice, Obito and Masaru were amusing and it was fun to be around the team I guess. you reassure yourself. im looking forward to tomorrow, my first mission. I think I already have a crush... or three... Kakashi, Obito and... not Masaru! Not Masaru! Never mind! Not him, he's a bit weird.
You finally arrive home and with an excited smile, you knock on the door impatiently. It takes ages, at least that's what it felt like, before the door finally opens, revealing your grumpy older sister staring down at you. "Oh, it's you..." She says in a cold tone which sends a shiver up your spine. "Yep! You seem cheerful like always, Haruko!" You cheerfully joke.
She takes a bite out of a raw lemon she had in her hand. It had several bites out of it and she hissed as she caught you staring at her precious and highly important-to-her lemon. "Wai ware mu ere?..." she says with her mouthful, meaning 'why are you here?...'
You frown, curiosity reflecting in your eyes but before you could say anything, you heard your 10 year old, younger brother (Riku) singing from inside of the house in the living room, very badly. "PO- PO- PO- PO- POCKER FACE," "FU- FU- FU- F*CK HER FACE!" Ray, Riku's twin responded as they danced together in the background with music playing loudly but not as loud as your mum scolding them for swearing.
Ray hid behind Riku and Riku cried in fear at the angry mother looking like Kushina. You blink at them blankly. You knew they were always like this and you couldn't help but feel a little amused at it. "Well that's... interesting." You chuckle as you take Haruko's hand and take a bite out of her lemon. You screw up your face, you somehow didn't expect it to be so sour when you saw Haruko's expression stay neutral when she took a huge bite from it.
You stole her precious lemon, she definitely was not happy about this. She yelled in anger before punching you in the head. You sulked and pouted. "Don't be mean, Haruko~!" You teased, still being cheerful, despite Haruko's bad mood. She scowled at you and sighed angrily. "So why are you here?" She asked curiously. "Uhm... am I not allowed in my own home?" You hesitantly question, concern taking control over your tone.
