I gaze at my wall clock and it read 8:30 pm . I couldn't stop replaying the events of today's engagement in my mind. I couldn't believe my in-laws turned out be such good people.

I couldn't help but wonder if my mom made the right decision in choosing them for me or am I just getting too comfortable too soon?.

But then again, what if they are like my grandparents - Good on the outside and evil on the inside? I shook my head to dismiss these thoughts. I shouldn't judge them without giving them a chance, right? Let's hope for the best, I thought to myself as I let out a sigh.

Unable to sleep, I got out of my bed and headed downstairs. I saw my aunt in the kitchen, probably making chai. Sneaking up behind her, I placed my hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump in fear and clutch her heart. I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction.

"What's wrong with you, you crazy girl? You scared the living daylights out of me", she exclaimed, giving me a stern look.

"Oh come on, you got scared? But hey, while you're here, can I have a cup of chai too", I asked flashing her a charming smile.

"Was I looking good at the engagement?", I couldn't help but ask, nervously fiddling with the hem of my sweatshirt.

"The way your fiance was looking at you speaks volumes about how stunning you were looking", she replied, winking at me.

"Really? Was he ogling at me like a piece of meat?", I joked, causing my aunt to burst into laughter.

"Off course not, silly! He was just admiring his beautiful bride-to-be", she replied, patting my cheek. I blush at her words.

"Can you please pass me the cups?", mishi asked as she stirred the chai. I quickly grabbed the cups and handed them to her.

I stood there looking at her, my aunt is a stunning lady, she looks like Maya from "BEYHADH" serial.

"Why are you staring at me like that?", she asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Oh, it's nothing. You are just beautiful", I replied with a smile.

"I know, and you resembles me a lot. You're also beautiful", she said, flipping her hair with a dramatic flair. I couldn't help but giggle at her antics.

"Let's take our chai to the terrace and enjoy it there", she suggested, passing me my chai cup. We made our way up to the rooftop, where we have swing. It's our favorite spot to gossip and play ludo.

As we sat on the swing, swaying back and forth. I noticed that our neighbour, Uzair bhai and his family were also on their rooftop. "Mishi they're also here", I whispered to my aunt, taking a sip of my chai.

"What about them? We're here to enjoy our chai", she replied nonchalantly.

"Bhabhi bhabhi!", I heard someone calling out. It was Harris, waving his hand from their rooftop. I have him a smile in return.

Our rooftops are connected, one jump and we're in each other's homes. "Chai akele akele?", he asked with a pout on his lips.

"Do you want chai?", I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yes", he nodded eagerly.

"Then tell Rabail bhabhi, she'll prepare it for you", I said, looking behind him to see, Ibrahim two new faces and Shahmeer, listening to our conversation.

"Mujhe aapke haath ki peeni h bhabhi!", Harris said, punching Ibrahim was pulling his ear.

"Assalamualaikum bhabhi", Ibrahim greeted me with a smile.

"Walaikumasalam", I replied, smiling back at him. I glanced at Mishi, who was now listening to music and enjoying her chai.

"Well, looks like it's a chai party on the rooftop today!", I joked, taking another sip of my chai. It's always nice to have some company and a cup of chai together.
