1984.

Daniel was mad, you immediately noticed as soon as he got out of the car to pick you up from the Cobra Kai Dojo. He didn't even want you near this building, that's what he told you before you went with Bobby after school. Nevertheless you knew he got into his car as fast as he could to pick you up, you're his little sister after all.

'Told you so!', Daniel couldn't help but smile a little bit. He opened the door for you and got back into the driver-seat. With a last look at the Dojo, the two of you drove back home. You could have waited for Bobby and the others to finish their training, but the thought of seeing that grumpy old man again, made you want to run.

'I'll drop you off at home, okay? I still have some training to do with Mr. Miyagi.', Daniel mumbled, focused on the street in front of him. 'Only you? I want to come too!', you insisted. Lately Daniel often tried to keep you away from the training. Mr. Miyagi always welcomed you with open arms, happy to see and to teach you. You had already asked Ali if Daniel told her anything about it, but she tried to change the topic and brush it off. You had overheard them shortly after, listening to your older brother complaining about your presence sometimes. That he wanted some free time from you, from always having to keep an eye on his little sister.

Hesitant and definitely annoyed, Daniel drove both of you over to Mr. Miyagi, who you hadn't seen in a few days. 'Ah! Good to see!' Mr. Miyagi waved you over, inside his little house. You weren't prepared for karate-training today, wearing a jeans and an oversized Mötley Crüe t-shirt that your mom got you for your birthday last year. Mr. Miyagi made you and your brother train in the garden today, but you couldn't focus at all. Your brain tried to finish the situation from earlier, with Cobra Kai's Sensei standing infront of you. Even your brain painted him as a terrifying and scary monster.

The image of him made you lose your concentration and gave Daniel the opportunity to knock you over with his shoulder. With a loud splash you landed in the little pond, hearing the roaring laughter of your brother. Mr. Miyagi quickly helped you to get out, hurrying inside to get you a towel to dry off.
Coming back and handing you the towel, he mentioned for Daniel to keep going and for you to sit down next to him on the wooden panels on the floor.

'No concentration. What is in the head?'

'I am sorry, Mr. Miyagi, for not being .. well, here exactly. I was at the Cobra Kai Dojo before, Daniel picked me up. You know, the one across the restaurant that our mom works in?'

The old man nodded with a warm smile, listening to you calmly.

'A friend of mine from school invited me to watch his training there. But .. their Sensei was .. not kind. He was not like you, he was scary and I felt threatened. Maybe I am interpreting too much into it but I just knew that he could crush me in an instant!' You waved your hands all over the place as if explaining your thoughts with them. Mr. Miyagi grabbed your left hand out of the air and placed it slowly on the wood below you.
'People who hurt Daniel-San. They do because of Sensei, he not a good man. He teaching his students the wrong way. He hurt you?'

'No! No he didn't! But I thought he would. And I wouldn't have had a chance. Not even against a single one of his students. What happens if I have to fight someone one day? Like Daniel? I am nowhere near his level! Even an eight year old kid could be more skilled than me!' Sighing, you crossed your arms over your chest. You loved doing karate and knowing that you could defend yourself – well, against a turtle at least. A dead one.

'You worry too much! You are strong. Strong like storm over sea. You will learn, takes time. You need practice, Daniel-San need practice, students of other Dojo need practice. But most important, you need to be confidence.'
