1984.
Ali handed you an ice-cold soda after coming back from the counter with Daniel. He was already sipping on his drink, following every of Ali's movements with his eyes. You'd never seen your brother in love and it was too cute! .. and annoying. It was the first time after a few weeks, since you finally could do something with Ali again – even though your brother dragged along. The three of you met up at Golf N' Stuff on a Friday evening, your mother urging you to do something with your friends after staying home so many nights. It wasn't your fault that you hadn't been able to go out with Ali or your friends, Daniel was simply taking her attention away 24/7.
'Thanks, Ali.', you said, taking the soda and looking around for a good spot to hang out.
'Let's play this dancing game over there! Come on!' Ali pointed out the two platforms placed next to each other. Daniel quickly took her hand and pulled her into the direction of the game, leaving you again, behind. With a big sigh you followed them like an old dog. You weren't actually fond of dancing but it looked really fun and now you just stood there, watching Daniel and Ali choosing a song to dance to.
Sipping on your drink you looked around. The arcade was pretty full of people today, most of them your age or older. It was very warm in here and, to be honest, absolutely no fun alone. Suddenly, a broad shoulder bumped into yours from behind and without being able to keep it from happening, made you spill your soda all over yourself. With a loud gasp you let go of the plastic-cup and looked down on your shirt. The soda was dripping to the ground, filling up a little puddle to your feet.
Great, it looked like you peed yourself.
'Watch it, girl.', an annoyed voice told you while passing you on the side. Not being able to hold in your rage, you wordlessly picked up the cup from the ground and threw it at his head with all your might. His .. blonde head. Oh no.
He stopped dead in his tracks. His friends, who had been giggling to themselves just seconds ago, now silent. As the cup fell to the ground again with a damp sound, it felt as if you just shot someone. Someone that could kill you. And you missed the shot. His blonde hair was a bit wet from the remaining liquid in the cup. With the slowest movement you could ever imagine, the blonde man with the red leatherjacket turned around on his heels, facing you. Oh no. He spat the nickname he gave you in the angriest voice. 'Little LaRusso.' Pressing his teeth together, he balled his hands to fists – over a damn cup.
Inhaling deeply, holding his breath and then whispering: 'Run.'
So you did. As fast as your legs could, you sprinted into the opposite direction. Passing your brother and Ali without looking back, towards the entrance of the arcade. Feeling as fast as ever you slipped out the door and right onto the skating track, hurdling yourself around boys on skateboards and bmx-bikes. Hearing Daniel shout your name from far behind you made the mistake of looking over your shoulder. There he was – like an angry bull trying to catch someone that jumped over their fence. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Right behind him were his friends, Bobby directly on his heels. Concentrating on finding a hiding place or a strong man willing to jump between you two, you felt a hand reaching for your shirt but not quite catching the fabric yet.Your legs felt like they were on fire and you were pretty sure that your lungs already exploded. And there he was – a tall, strong, muscly man – right in front of you, your escape!
Well, not really. He looked at you in shock as you were only metres away of crashing into him full speed. But right before you would've collided with him head on, the hand finally got a hold of your shirt, pulling you back abruptly and hurling you to the side, right onto the ground with a big huff. Johnny landing on top of your ribs, knocking the remaining air out of your already dead lungs. Because of your speed he rolled right over you, not being able to stop himself on top of you. Panting, he came to a halt and lay right beside you on his back. You groaned, holding the left side of your ribs, that made contact with the ground and Johnny.
